Qué es una Block Party?
La Block Party surge en los años 70 en los barrios afrodescendientes y latinos del Bronx (Nueva York), como respuesta comunitaria a un contexto de precariedad, exclusión y abandono institucional. Fueron fiestas organizadas en las calles o patios de manzana (blocks) por la propia vecindad, donde se improvisaban equipos de sonido, se bailaba, se rapeaba y se pintaba graffiti. En ese gesto colectivo de ocupar el espacio urbano con arte y comunidad, nació el Hip Hop como movimiento cultural.
Hoy, una Block Party sigue siendo un acto de encuentro vecinal, autogestión y cultura viva. No es solo una celebración, sino una forma de reapropiarse del espacio público desde la creación, el cuidado colectivo y la expresión popular.
🎤 ARTISTAS O PARTICIPANTES: MCs, DJs, artistas de graffiti, bailarinas, bailarines, vecinos y vecinas.
