  1. Went to pick up the spectacles, as by PLAN A; all went well, showed the bloke my repaired specs, got two pairs of specs one for long distance and one for reading only. Both feels weird and not quite right, as I was also given two boxes, they'll stay there until further notice.

On the way back, through the alleys, didn't find anything interesting (*) but at a certain point a bloke was trying to take a snapshot of a brick sampler against a brick wall and asked me to hold it up while he took a shot. Weird.

Then through the park where I stopped to feed the crows, had a bag of dry worms in the bag, as soon as I stopped a couple of dozen of them landed nearby, waiting.

And so it went; closer to base spotted four council vans picking up rubbish, apparently the illegal dumpsters were very active last night and there were piles of rubbish dumped in alleys. Wood, plaster board, rubble. Bandits.

Also forgot to take the lighter so didn't smoke for two and a half hours!! and the trip took the same time as two Zappa albums, Apostrophe and Bongo Fury, which was nice.

Back to base, break, off shortly to the plot to do another brush cutting session at the community allotment which has been taken over by the Komissariat (commitee) which is doing an excellent job.

  2. 🇫🇷 Bonjour! 🙂

    Bonne journée! 👋

🇬🇧 Good morning! Another alley discovered yesterday during my trip to Namur: the alley of Hell! Another narrow alley connecting the Chaussée de Waterloo to the street below passing under the railway. But don't worry, at the end of the tunnel, there was spring sunlight! 🙂 Have a nice day! 👋

🇬🇧 Liège has many alleys, some of them date back to the Middle Ages. Liège had in the past many islands due to the many branches of the river Meuse, that can be seen in the reproduction of the map of the city exhibited at the Museum of Walloon Life. Some are dead end alleys, but others connect greater arteries and sometimes the Meuse banks, this is the cas for the alley of "Mount of Piety".

  4. Is this a multiverse traveler trapped between two portals, or just a really creepy doll next to some mirrors being discarded?

  5. Can #Tokyo’s charms be #replicated elsewhere? | The Economist

The real Tokyo, as any #denizen of the world’s most #populous #metropolis knows, is found in the smallest of #spaces. #Japan’s #capital is not a #city of grand #arterial #boulevards. Its lifeblood flows instead through tangles of narrow #alleys, up the #stairs of slim #buildings and into tiny #shops and cramped #eateries.
