Step 1: fabricate a labour ‘crisis’ by arresting workers

Step 2: solve labour crisis by renting back the detained workers to businesses, under the guise that it’s ‘only fair’ that detainees should contribute to thier upkeep.

The 3 #ReconstructionAmendments, #13A-#15A, were passed from 1866-1870. Then, in theory, all black men had the right to vote 🗳. It took until #LBS's #VotingRightsActs to seriously eliminate the disenfranchising #JimCrowLaws in the #South.
