  6. Former DOJ Pardon Attorney Liz Oyer has uncovered a massive, quiet policy change at the Bureau of Prisons (dated May 6) that completely strips away objective checks and balances for federal inmate placement.

The new rule gives Acting AG Todd Blanche total, unchecked authority to bypass standard BOP safety scoring and personally dictate where prisoners serve time.

The warning? Allies get fast-tracked to comfy halfway houses or home confinement, while political opponents or protestors could face unilateral placement in maximum-security prisons alongside violent offenders. No review.

No limits. This is the weaponization of the prison system hiding in plain sight, and it needs to be the central focus of Blanche's upcoming Senate confirmation hearings.

  10. Please make time to listen to Tahlia Isaac's International Women's Day Address from 2025, speaking from her personal experiences and the stories of others, about how we treat Indigenous women whom society labels as "criminals" and locks up for overwhelmingly minor offences, further oppressing them and pushing them into poverty and recidivism.

In my opinion, if you think prisons perform a necessary function in society for separating the "bad" from the "good" and keeping communities safe, or that police and the courts are fair and just, then you don't yet understand the system.
