Around the same time, I started a hunt for a shiny starter in SoulSilver, but I only did around a hundred resets before deciding to fully focus on Unown. The day after I found it, I started again, and in a single session, I reached 211 resets, so 633 encounters, since HGSS lets you see if a starter is shiny before you pick it, so each resets counts as 3 encounters if you aren’t going for a specific species. I was much luckier this time, as this is the classic 1/8192 odds : the binomial distribution for this hunt is 7,44%.
I named this new friend Barlow!
