CW: Slight Myst 4 spoiler (and hint link)
WTF? I'm playing #Myst 4. I'm in Haven (the nature area). There's lemur-like things on one of the pillars, and some handles to turn to create noises.
As expected, you need to make noises to clear the creatures so that you can see the column properly. But it's literally just "good luck getting the timings right with a very sensitive UI where the grab area is small and both duration _and_ timing are important" 😐
This is probably one of the dumbest ever puzzles. I'm going to assume that I can get the remaining pillar clues and ignore this one.

Trying to do the "decode the words on the spines of books" puzzle and… as an English speaker, it's REALLY difficult to try and decode text that looks heavily influenced by Arabic when it's a) rotated and b) pixelated because the game maxes out at 1024×768 resolution 😐
(Although having just checked 640×480 resolution then I'm not convinced that it's ACTUALLY using that resolution - or the upscaling is virtually indistinguishable. But whatever, it's pixelated and unclear script!)

Finally finished the main bit of Uru (not the expansions). Lots of hints required this time.
I think the main failing (other than the controls… and the camera angles) is that they changed from "an environmental puzzle game" to a "did you remember this bit of the story that is no longer just interesting narrative but is actually vital clues".
Like… dude?! Did you expect me to remember the name of some random character who projects a message once really early on? I had NO CLUE that she was the one narrating bits of it. I thought it was some god-entity in the special spiritual room! 😐

Played Inquisitor: Martyr with my brother again earlier.
Bad: Two forced single-player missions. When we're trying to co-op it 😐
Good: One was driving a Shadowsword tank and the other was piloting an Imperial Knight! 😈 -
Playing a bit of Cities: Skylines for the first time in ages.
One thing I always want to do better with is public transport. I'd love to have a highly functional mixed mode transport system, but… I just don't know how to design it or judge efficiency!
Roads and transport links aren't terrible. You can see busy spots, upgrade roads or add new routes. And industry just kinda does its thing.
But public transport? No clue!

I reported an ad on a social network because of this a few months back. The answer that I got back was "no action - totally fine and within policy".
When it comes to dealing with the explosion in GenAI then society is SCREWED because important groups can't be arsed to do anything 😐

Why do I keep checking Humble Bundle for new book bundles when a) I haven't read the vast majority of books that I've already bought and b) they're so frequently disappointing because there's an increasing amount of GenAI bullshit in there? 😕
(The obvious answer is "in case there's another Black Library bundle… and it actually has NEW stuff")

On the one hand, I enjoy reading all the Warhammer eBooks that I've got.
On the other hand, do I *actually* ENJOY reading them or is it just a familiar and comfortable world and I like feeling that I now know more about it? 🫤

I've been reading "Legends of the Dark Millennium: Astra Militarum" and now "Cadia Stands" and enjoying the stories. Especially Creed. The "down-and-dirty humanity and practicality" GrimDark while everyone around them is trying to be "correctly bureaucratic" GrimDark is great.
The Imperial Guard novels are so much better overall than the Space Marine novels. And I don't think it's just the authors.
(The Warhammer novels are better still, though)
