  3. People from Germany, JD Vance may be the Vice-President of the United States (well, after VP trump), but please know, he does not speak for all of us.

While he decided to embrace the AfD, many of us find this unacceptable and repugnant.

JD Vance has decided to parade his ignorance of European history, particularly that of fascism in Europe.

Or worse, he knows exactly what he's doing.

After that lunkhead slapped 25% tariffs on our *allies* (but somehow let China slide thru at 10%), we'll get a chance on Monday to see how the markets react.

It won't be pretty, but it's may make Wall St. have the moron in chief walk this back in short order.

  5. After the two violent incidents ringing in the new year, the First Felon Elect wasted no time in getting facts wrong - it's more important that he feel validated.

But this was also under-reported, the the veteran who took his own life outside a trump property left a violent anti-Democratic manifesto that's not being reported on, because apparently, only scary brown people carry out terrorist attacks.

  10. After reading this expose about RFK Jr, I'd like to know who these RFK Jr-curious Dems are. We do not need any weakness in the ranks as we're fighting one of the greatest threats to American health in recent memory: An AIDS denying, vaccine-conspiring crank.

We need to identify any senators who may be sympathetic to this threat and get them either to tow the line or get the fuck out.

  12. I know these past few weeks have been stressful AF for all of us and there has been a lot of bad actors and media people trying to influence this.

Regardless of what happens, I'm backing the Dem candidate and we're going to be in it to win it.

If you're a Dem resigned to a 'trump victory', I agree with AOC—get out and get out now.

  13. @JamesGleick Huge fan of Josh Marshall and his ability to elucidate what every honest journalist should be saying at this point.

After we get Biden re-elected, we need to nuke the filibuster, codifying Roe V. Wade, and work on reforming the court through expansion and term limits, because without a honest judiciary, we can past the most progressive agenda in 100 years and have it undone by this court.

    Ripley had it right.

  15. The better half and I just finished The Durrells in Corfu that was on PBS. The fourth season wasn't very good, but the last two episodes really made up for it.

On a bright note, I looked up what happened to Theodore Stephanides, the real-life naturalist who befriended Gerald Durrell (the author of the Corfu Trilogy).

It turned out he led an amazing life before and after his time with the Durrells and this has made me very happy!
