A guy on #Freegle asked if anyone had any spare bike tyres so I said I had loads and he came around yesterday. He's building his daughter some stilts and needed an old tyre for the feet of the stilts. I offered him a selection and he took an old #Schwalbe #MarathonPlus (a.k.a. bombproof). He gifted me a large bottle of cerveza in return. Thank you very much!

It was the Interclub 10 mile Time Trial yesterday and my club, Dukinfield CC (a.k.a. The Duks), had four riders in it. Pictured (L-R) David "Bam Bam" Bamford, Karen Newby, Ash Cooney, Emidio Santos and Steve Holt (didn't ride, was marshalling). Ash was the fastest Duk in a time of 28:10, an amazing effort in his first ever TT. Great efforts by all involved. So a solo 80km Sunday ride for me out to #Siddington to meet the guys and catch up. I had a great ride today with Danny, Dougie and Angie (fellow Dukinfield CC members). It looked a bit grim when we set off from Dukinfield but the sun came out once Angie left us at the top of Marsden Moor (image 1)! And we nearly got hit by a deer hopping across the road just after Scammonden Dam (image 2). The club carried on to #Hartington and I did a 180 and came back via #Strines and #Compstall. A rapid descent before a right turn to climb #Windgather, which seemed longer and steeper than when I last went up 2 years ago. Another super fast drop down #TheStreet before heading to #WhaleyBridge for coffee, then home via #Strines and #Compstall. 75km with 1150m of up, up, up.
