Wild mix yesterday. Explored Squadratinhos around Erndtebrück which resulted in quite a bit bushwhacking. Tried my new iPhone 17 Pro camera out and compared it to my 15 Pro and my Olympus OMD E-M5. And did some Tempo and Threshold work on the bike in-between.

Yesterday was a jab (for the boy), jobs (for me), then a fun, hilly 90-minute bike ride. Nipped out for just under 70km with a mate yesterday, the first long ride on the new bike. About 90% of it was off-road; down towpaths, old railway lives and other tracks. Great fun, and we missed the rain. Mind you, I could have done without the relentless 14-16%ers in the last 5km! I've never been more happy to have a huge sprocket on the back!

#NBD Today, I finally picked up my 60th birthday present to myself (it was last October!), a North Road Cycles Grav-i-Ti. I got the tram down to Sale Moor and rode Nollaig back via the gravel/rocks/sand/cobbles tracks that run alongside the River Mersey, from Sale Moor to Stockport. Then onto tarmac for the last 9km home. Of course, it got filthy so had its first wash later in the afternoon, too!

Last of the summer gravel?
The feeling that each day could be the last good one – and that mud will soon abound – has spurred me on to ride further. This outing took in some towpath gravel, cutting between tatty industrial edgelands and under deafening motorways out to the open countryside.
It was lovely. Now to plan another.

Today's #DukinfieldCC ride was a hilly one, @ 1200m in 77km. We headed north out from Dukinfield through #Heyrod, #Mossley, #Greenfield and #Uppermill before starting the long climb from #Delph up #MarsdenMoor. At the top of the moor we headed west down the fast, but windy, descent over the #M62 motorway before turning left again taking us to #ScammondenDam. From there we headed across country taking in a few 10% plus-ers before hitting the main road that climbed to the top of #CraggVale. Another windy but speedy drop took us the the cafe in #Littleborough for coffee and refuel before the ride home through #Newhey, #Shaw, #Lees and #Dukinfield. Top day with Angie, Ash, Jane, Paul and a new rider, Andy. #BikeTooter #BikeToot #Duks #Cycling #GroupCycling #ClubRun #ClubRides #RideWithOthers #OutsideIsFree #FromWhereIRide #LoveCycling #EnjoyCycling #CyclingIsLife #ComeCycling #JoinACyclingClub #AllWelcome

Today's #ride was what Monday's would have been if I hadn't gotten double impact punctures on the #PinarelloMarvel. Not a problem on #tubeless and #OsgarTheOrro never lets me down! 55km done heading south from mine to just past #ManchesterAirport and turn for home at #Wilmslow. After Wilmslow is #Woodford where this shared path section starts and takes you all the way to #HazelGrove, near #Stockport, about 5km. Sweet! Got home just as my wife rang our son for tech support on how to tether her phone to her Chromebook while she was at her brother's. Invoice is emailed!

A heady couple of hours on Osgar earlier. Lots of climbing but we both enjoy it. Some friends (not food) and #HartsheadPike from the top of Mossley Road, looking down on #Greenfield and #Uppermill from Ladcastle Road, the top of Grains Road and looking down on Town from Top O' Th' Meadows. Lovely stuff. And all this was after I'd been chatting with the #vegan protesters outside Pilgrims in A-U-L. Power to the plant eaters!

About 10km from home on Sunday (I'd done @ 93km around the #Cheshire lanes by this point) I nabbed a shot of the Phil Foden mural on the corner of Wycliffe Street and George's Road in Stockport. I did my longest ride since the end of October earlier. 40km round trip. The halfway point was the top of what we call "The Horse and Jockey" climb, which is the road that goes from #Uppermill to the junction with the A62, #Oldham #Huddersfield road. That's where this image was taken. I put the 40mm #Continental tyres back on my #OrroTerraCHydro the other week and they still sing! It was great to get out with two riding buddies, Lauren and Dougie, too. 2 hours of fun and not too many cars about.
