Wild mix yesterday. Explored Squadratinhos around Erndtebrück which resulted in quite a bit bushwhacking. Tried my new iPhone 17 Pro camera out and compared it to my 15 Pro and my Olympus OMD E-M5. And did some Tempo and Threshold work on the bike in-between.

A superb solo Sunday 50km ride on the Grav-i-Ti. Picked up the Peak Forest canal, near home, all the way to Disley. Then onto the hard, climby tracks around Lyme Park before heading back through Chadkirk, then back onto the canal at Romiley and head home. Lots of wildlife, including a beautiful pair of Mandarin ducks. Nipped out for just under 70km with a mate yesterday, the first long ride on the new bike. About 90% of it was off-road; down towpaths, old railway lives and other tracks. Great fun, and we missed the rain. Mind you, I could have done without the relentless 14-16%ers in the last 5km! I've never been more happy to have a huge sprocket on the back!

The feeling that each day could be the last good one – and that mud will soon abound – has spurred me on to ride further. This outing took in some towpath gravel, cutting between tatty industrial edgelands and under deafening motorways out to the open countryside.
It was lovely. Now to plan another.

A very easy, but quality, 3 hours in the saddle with Paul, out to #Wilmslow. We took it very slowly as he was getting used to his first ride on his new/my old #Boardman. He's only had it 9 months! A quality solo ride into #Cheshire yesterday while everyone else was watching the #TourOfBritain. A quick coffee at The Wizard Tea Rooms after going up Artists Lane before the home stretch. 75km in glorious sunshine (remember that?) and happy in the knowledge it's pissing down at my Mum's in #Chipiona. They need it! Lovely to spend time with Peadar the #Pinarello, too. I've had this bike for over 20 years and I've no idea how old it actually is as I got it second hand from a proper racer!

Today's #ride was what Monday's would have been if I hadn't gotten double impact punctures on the #PinarelloMarvel. Not a problem on #tubeless and #OsgarTheOrro never lets me down! 55km done heading south from mine to just past #ManchesterAirport and turn for home at #Wilmslow. After Wilmslow is #Woodford where this shared path section starts and takes you all the way to #HazelGrove, near #Stockport, about 5km. Sweet! Got home just as my wife rang our son for tech support on how to tether her phone to her Chromebook while she was at her brother's. Invoice is emailed!

Another excellent Dukinfield CC ride, this time to Farm Made Tearooms at #Rainow, with Jane and Paul Nyland, Danny and Emidio. The cafe is in a glorious setting, near the bottom of #BlazeHill. And you get the chance to see #WhiteNancy . The only drawback today was my chain snapping at the bottom of the Climb Of Doom, a.k.a. #Chadkirk. I managed to get that sorted but walked up the climb as I didn't want to risk using my excessive wattage again in case I snapped it one more time. So that's a new chain and cassette I'll be ordering..
