What would we do "if a flotilla of boats came to (deliver food aid to) Birmingham", he asked. Mate, the Red Crescent are already there. They have a big warehouse and do amazing work.If violent trrrists came, on the other hand, we'd pull all the plugs out of the canals, you idiot! But the flotilla was coming to deliver aid to the people his government have been starving. Doesn't he know he's a Bad Guy?

Jon Ronson released a podcast on BBC Radio 4 in 2022 called Things Fell Apart, which I'm finding very insightful, if occasionally disturbing.
This episode though, focusing on a post-Pizzagate story, hasn't aged quite so well;

It kind of treats the story of an elite pedophile ring as a QAnon trope; silly and obviously wrong. But the release of the Epstein files very much substantiates that story.

Watched the last 2 episodes of Boys from the Black stuff (drama set in 1980s Liverpool) yesterday evening.
The final one was very moving.
I've been fortunate to meet real life "George Malones", working class organic intellectuals, committed to just struggles and a key resource in the local community.

Tonight is 10pm Monday 26th Dec #BBC4 is repeating the amazing #JohnByrne series #TuttiFrutti starring the late great #RobbieColtrane and #EmnaThompson. Two episodes each night for three days. At 9pm tonight also a tribute to Robbie Coltrane narrated by #CeliaImrie. BTW saw Tutti Frutti no that long ago and although it's comedic there's some dark stuff in there too, be aware.

On #BBC4 #todayProgramme 14/10 there was a piece on the #UkraineWar about civilians evacuating their homes because of the Russian invasion. It was depressing, not just because it was an evacuation but there was the thinnest of contexts. This was the morning after more and new evidence of murdered, surrendered Ukrainian soldiers.
