Dritte Folge der zweiten Staffel der Serie „Música Sacra” (Sakrale Musik), produziert von der BBC. In dieser Folge lernen wir etwas über das Leben und Werk der Komponisten Henryk Górecki und Arvo Pärt und erfahren, wie ihre sakrale Musik die kommunistischen Behörden ihrer Heimatländer Polen und Estland verärgerte. Henryk Mikołaj Górecki (1933-2010), polnischer Komponist, wurde bekannt durch seine Sinfonie Nr. 3 – Die Klagen, insbesondere durch den zweiten Satz, in dem ein Gebet an die Jungfrau Maria gesungen wird, das 1944 in Polen von einer 18-jährigen Frau in der Zelle geschrieben wurde, in der sie von der Gestapo gefangen gehalten wurde. Arvo Pärt (1935), estnischer Komponist, bekannt für verschiedene Werke, darunter Spiegel im Spiegel, Fratres, Tabula Rasa, Credo, Miserere und andere.

Tonight is 10pm Monday 26th Dec #BBC4 is repeating the amazing #JohnByrne series #TuttiFrutti starring the late great #RobbieColtrane and #EmnaThompson. Two episodes each night for three days. At 9pm tonight also a tribute to Robbie Coltrane narrated by #CeliaImrie. BTW saw Tutti Frutti no that long ago and although it's comedic there's some dark stuff in there too, be aware.
