We also visited the Lavender Farm in Wānaka, New Zealand on 31 Dec 2025. It has fields of lavender and farm animals, like this rather devilish looking alpacas.

This morning, as I was heading off to the doctors, 2 women walking #Malamutes saw me hopping into the car & asked if their dogs could get a closer look at the #alpacas & #lambs.

They were on our driveway & the dogs kept looking at our animals & we’re doing lots of head tilting, looking confused.

I said “sure” & we drove off.

The alpacas & lambs had been still eating lucerne & in the rear vision mirror we saw Ozzie move to the gate to put himself between the visitors & his “herd”.

The better half spent lunchtime with the #lambs & #alpacas.

Lots of #rubs & #cuddles, lucerne, crushed lupins & carrots.

I got a lot of alpaca, goat and sheep wool yesterday during my sojourn into Harvard. The roving I bought at the alpaca farm was four times the price as that from the wool shop. I knew this as I bought it but it's important to support our local farms lest they vanish. Plus it's nice to work with something I know is locally sourced. #felting #alpacas #farming #sheep #wool #goats #cashmere
