A little delayed due to an #asthma attack but - the boys are fed. 6° Celsius!
And that #nasturtium bud has bloomed!

The #alpacas are happy. The #carrots must flow.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Just back from a #dinner #picnic high on a hill, under the shade of trees & enjoying a cool breeze.
As I write this, it’s 41° here. 🥵
We ate the wattle seed damper I made this afternoon topped with plum jam & drank some very cold soft drinks.
About all we could tolerate in the heat.
Arrived to one of the neighbour kids wanting to tell us how he saw a #brownSnake twice while we were out, near the lucerne bales.
Feeding the #alpacas & #sheep in the morning will be - interesting. 🐍🐍

28° Celsius outside but it feels hotter.
Tried to get some aluminium cans into the #recycle centre but it was chocka block full of people - some even had their Ute trays full of bags of cans!
#Alpacas & #sheep have had their water topped up & I emptied another pot in the garden.
It used to contain one of our #Roselle plants.
Inside, #electrolytes have been taken & I’m under the fan.

A farmer in Harcourt is grieving the loss of 11 of her llamas.
Rita Soares is the shepherd of 25 alpacas and now just two llamas on her rural property, Campo Verde Alpacas and Llamas, 35 kilometres south of #Bendigo.
Rita said that although she was still grateful to have a home, she would have sacrificed her house to save her llamas.
"We had 11 male llamas and two female llamas ... all 11 males have passed away," she said.

CW: Minor wounds to alpaca from shearing
#Ozzie stressed out during his #shearing & managed to get a couple of nicks from the clippers as he struggled with the #shearer.
Chaser was fine though & came out of it with no wounds.
Toenails on both were cut & Ozzie also received red antiseptic & stitches to the larger nick above his front right shoulder.
The shearer also doses them while he’s here. (De-wormers & vaccines) #alpacas

That’s me done for the day. My back is in spasm & was sore before that.
We spent the morning outside with the #alpacas & the crazy #sheep.
Some digging around the gate to let it open easier for the shearer tomorrow & more vinegar spraying on the #thistles.
Then I changed the water troughs & pool water.
It was nice to see the lambs using the pool to drink from. I’m still waiting for Chaser to use it as a pool. He uses the water troughs & they are much smaller…

The #produceStore was out of #lucerne!
Something’s up if they can’t source lucerne!Instead they delivered us huge bags of lucerne #chaff.
I’m wondering how to keep the stuff once opened. My feed storage tubs are full of cracked & crushed #lupins.
I fed the #alpacas & #sheep a mix of the chaff & lupins this morning.
Still not hot enough for Chaser the alpaca to start using the pool.

The 1st thing I did when we got home was check on the #alpacas & #sheep.
They had plenty of water & were grazing, but I gave them some lupins & lucerne. Just to be sure.
My better half watered our fruit & vegies. Again, just to be sure.
Then we headed up to #GoGo’s at #Macedon & had a meal at the neighbours eatery.
I had an all day #breakfast & the better half went for #pancakes.
After that - we headed back home for a nap. 🤗

We are home!
#alpacas & #sheep seemed glad to see us. Our #Sikh neighbours did a good job looking after them in our absence.🤗
During our driving we saw 12!!! #eagles, 1 #kookaburra & also about 20 dead #kangaroos - the dead 'roos mostly on our drive home this morming.

I’m alone this weekend, the better half left yesterday morning to look after family again.
The #alpacas & #lambs rushed the lucerne this morning - looks like more rain is coming. Are they preparing?
Wearing an “new old stock’ #Seiko #kinetic #watch today. It’s the watch you never really hear about - it’s like a quartz watch & an automatic had a baby.
It arrived from #Penguin in #Tasmania yesterday. The trip took 10 days after being received by #AusPost.
Is Penguin remote?

A tale of 2 #Wiltipoll #lambs.
Oswald & Lewis.
Minimum temperature here recently has been hovering around -1° to 0° Celsius.
So it’s a bit concerning that Lewis is rubbing up against trees, the fence, brick walls & trying to lose his #fleece.
Mites maybe?
Advice welcomed.
The other lamb & the #alpacas seem okay…

#Dinner tonight will be another “throw whatever I find into it” #savourymince on soft wraps meal.
(I’m making room in the freezer for food ordered on credit this morning.)
Midday we’re headed off to the #ProduceStore to order more feed for the #lambs & #alpacas - again, on credit.
Such is life.

I’m off to my appointment with the Dr to get a #fluShot & talk to about my recurring #BellsPalsy symptoms. ☹️
This week I have had 2 solid days of the behind the ear “earache” plus my lips doing the Mexican wave. Sigh.

What a horrible night! I was frozen & kept waking up to put more blankets on the bed.
It didn’t seem to help.
I woke around 5am but it was too dark to feed the #alpacas & #lambs.
I fell asleep, woke at 7 (with a #migraine!) & headed off.
#Chaser is the main #MudBrother today, looking very brown. AND this morning he came running for the lucerne.
It rained all night as far as I can tell. (I checked the weather radar each time I woke)

I’ve been #hydrating all day, taking #electrolytes with some of my water, but I go outside, give the #alpacas & #lambs some lucerne, then water the #Roselle & #JerusalemArtichoke - the next minute liquids are #spewing (the operate word) out of my mouth & I lose all sense of balance.
Naked under the fan now, a bucket beside me if more liquid wants to rush up my throat.
Where’s our rain?! Mutter mutter #auspol #gardening
