Mr Gotcha here has a point, but until #Twitter actually dies it will continue offering things that other platforms don't, and people who I like to read and interact with will stay on it. I continue to use it for those things, but also hope that it permanently falls over.
Prompted by yet another #TwitterDown petite mort. #TwitterDeath

@Nickiquote there's a certain demographic, though, for whom the chocolate covered pretzel will forever be associated with the stink-palm. We will never eat a chocolate covered pretzel, ever 🤮

#DavidMcCallum was one of those people who I *would* have remembered tremendously fondly if only he’d kept his trap shut about his fucking awful politics.

The wee #Wolverine minifig with the Sentinel head is very cool, though. Glad we got the silly mask-shaped hair as well as the silly mask, for Sunday best.

A former chairman of the parish council here in #Sawston used to say there were two parcels of land in the village traditionally known as "Big Titties" and "Little Titties".

I don’t watch much TV or radio news output at all any more, but I do listen to a lot of #6Music, stuff on #BBC Sounds and what my kids watch on #CBBC and #CBeebies. And #DoctorWho, obviously.
Whilst it is obviously not going to dismantle capitalism, the stuff I see is Woke As Fuck. It’s very respectful and encouraging to all cultures and to LGBT+ and neurodiverse children and adults.
The right wing and billionaire press hate the BBC and attack it constantly for a reason. It should be defended.

This is my favourite #SuperFurryAnimals song and I had no idea there was actually a video for it. Keep listening to the end, because I think the climax is brilliant. #GruffRhys

Reform win 5 seats: Immigration will be a huge issue for this government!
Sinn Fein win 7 seats: Irish reunification will be a huge issue for… um… is this thing on?

#BBC6Music DJs are not allowed to talk about their views on the election, but it’s obvious how they feel. Today Mary Anne Hobbs played Talkin’ ‘Bout A Revolution by #TracyChapman and this, by #RareEarth:

What this actually felt like was Sunak saying:
“Look, I’m a nice guy really, extremely employable by very rich liberal types, and not really a racist or a transphobe. I just had to pretend to be in order to win votes from white working class bigots and hold the fort against the fascists in my own party. You know how it is. It’s just a job. It’s not real. It’s not like anyone got hurt, did they. No-one who *matters*, anyway.”

Kind of a superficially gracious farewell speech from Sunak there, but talking about British values of “kindness, decency and tolerance” about his own family’s experience as a minority in Britain, after spending the last several years relentlessly and brutally putting the boot into some of the most vulnerable people in the world for political ends, including asylum seekers and trans kids, shouldn’t fool anyone.

CW: Graham Linehan, transphobia, Brass Eye Paedophile Special
On Twitter #GrahamLinehan has alluded to the paedophile in a space capsule sketch from #BrassEye ("this is the one thing we didn't want to happen") to refer to #Mermaids training NHS staff.
Just for interest, Linehan, in his own words, "chickened out" of having his name on Brass Eye's brilliant paedophile special (from Lucien Randall's "Disgusting Bliss: The Brass Eye of #ChrisMorris ").

I went to see an exhibition of the work of the Icelandic pop artist #Erró at the #ARoS gallery in #Aarhus today. A lot of his work is based on collages of comics which he then paints on a large scale. See the collage and the final work below.
The work is interesting but unfortunately he does not credit the original artists, so raises similar issues to the work of #RoyLichtenstein. 1/

There you go, finally. #Cirencester now has its first non-Tory MP since 1910!

That feeling when you, a massive Tory and close mate of the King, try to charge for access to your landed estate and accidentally draw everyone’s attention to the fact that it was bought with blood money from slavery.

Worth noting as well that Allen #Bathurst, the ninth and current Earl, is a former property development business partner of #RichardTice, leader of the populist, far-right, pro-fossil fuel, anti-immigration party Reform UK. You know: fascists.
Earl Bathurst is often described in the press as a “close friend” of our current King and a “conservationist”.

#PrivateEye reported on English property transferred to overseas companies in the period 2005-2014 only.
All of this orange land featured, mostly transferred to a #Bathurst trust in #Bermuda.
The preservation of the historical profits of Transatlantic slavery, using a British #colonial tax haven. 50% of Bermudans are black, mostly descended from African slaves.
The map is a really interesting piece of journalism:
