  1. Argh. My Apple #IIgs just decided to give me a scare. I switched it on and it wouldn't boot from any disk (BlueSCSI or FloppyEmu), going directly to the boot menu.

The boot settings were all as I'd left them (time and date, boot slot etc.), but I opened it up to check the ROM battery anyway.

My IIgs came to me with the old lithium cell cut out, and I've replaced that with a pair of AA alkaline cells. Don't worry, they sit on the floor of the case, can't ever leak onto anything.

  2. @BlueSCSI Hmmm, I bet these can be shared on #GlobalTalk using GrayShare… 🤔

  3. This brings our #BlueSCSI Toolbox app platforms up to 4! Classic Mac, Amiga, DOS, and NeXT!

  4. @fred Thanks for making such a cool program for all of the vintage Macs!

I’d have to go back through my notes but I think it’s a combination of the original video, the aspect ratio of my screen (an LCD from an iPad, this is my #AppleLisaClone ), and higher frame rates because I’m using a SCSI card with a BlueSCSI.

Also, I found the ArduinoFile has better throughout than the original ProFile so even it too could achieve higher frame rates than the default.

  5. Original case, CPU card, cage, Mac mouse & KB.

Clone IO card, RAM card, SCSI card, COPS & PROM chips.

New ITX PSU, FloppyEmu, LCD, breakout board, BlueSCSI, ArduinoFile.

  7. WLAN driver: DaynaPORT 1.4
Robert Smith's driver uses the WLAN emulation available in the SD-based SCSI 'drives' ZuluSCSI and BlueSCSI to connect any Amiga with a SCSI host to the network. Changes in version 1.4:

  8. Heeeeeeck yeah. The Raspberry Pi Pico-W transplant into the #BlueSCSI was a success. Loading web sites is pretty dang slow, but it tops out at like 60Kb/sec, not much faster than a 56K modem, not that those existed when this #Macintosh IIci was contemporary. I think the disk driver in the image I used is super slow. I remember seeing a warning in the log file. So going to fiddle with it in the near future, but for now just so glad this is working. Such a neat machine.

Edit: Oh and I forgot to tag @ActionRetro and @mac84tv for all their hard work with Frog Find and such oh and thanks to the #ProtoWeb project too!

  9. I got all the stuff to recap my SE/30 mainboard, analog board, and power supply. I also got my hands on 128MB of memory (woo!) and a 32bit-clean ROM. Now I just need to find a day to sit down, dissasemble everything, and replace all those caps! I also need to get my hands on a BlueSCSI v2 internal once @KayKoba has some in stock. #macse30 #retrocomputing

  11. Let’s look inside the #MacintoshPortable, a marvel of all plastic engineering. It contains no screws and requiring only a flat head screw driver to disassemble it. It’s also nerve wracking for fear of breaking brittle plastic.

The back holds the lead acid battery on the left and the right your choice of HD/FD or 2 FDs.

Here I’ve installed a #BlueSCSI V2 desktop along with the 50 to 34 pin SCSI adapter.

    I’ve also installed a 8MB RAM card

  12. New blog post! This home-built #bluescsi external SCSI emulator has been a trusty friend for fixing many old Macs. With a new case, and a bit of software cleanup, it's now even more useful! #retrocomputing #68kmac

  17. As suggested by @shyra , I tried the #lacie #silverlining drivers (found a bootable #system7 drive with the drivers already installed on #machintoshgarden) and in fact I was able to read and write to the #bluescsi emulated disk without errors!
Unfortunately I still cannot boot from the disk: I got a plethora of different errors after the "Welcome to macintosh"...
