Updating my epic #AppleLisaClone thread with a new 3D printed card chassis by SQ9PXB that's now available! I haven't tried it myself, but it looks great.

@fred Thanks for making such a cool program for all of the vintage Macs!
I’d have to go back through my notes but I think it’s a combination of the original video, the aspect ratio of my screen (an LCD from an iPad, this is my #AppleLisaClone ), and higher frame rates because I’m using a SCSI card with a BlueSCSI.
Also, I found the ArduinoFile has better throughout than the original ProFile so even it too could achieve higher frame rates than the default.

I just realized I started my #AppleLisaClone a little over two years ago!
The post below begins the long thread about my journey.
-
My #AppleLisaClone has a new front panel! I got one of the new Lisa 1+2 hybrid panels from Mac Effects, courtesy of @Recta_Pete
I moved the iPad LCD panel over to it and added some custom 3D printed CRT bezel gap fillers to fit the curve.

I just noticed today that the case for my #AppleLisaClone seems to be.. painted? It's lighter in color than the first front I purchased. I didn't really pay much attention to it at first but I noticed the HD activity LED light pipe was painted over..!
I mean, it's not a bad paint job as far as these things go. But, why?

When I used the m0110 front panel, I found that Enter and Space are swapped. I have not yet tested with m0110A. case 0x5C: return "Space"; case 0x46: return "Enter";

I think it can be modified a bit on the base plate.Connect /CSYNC to J2-B.A CSYNC can be added to the branching board designed by paulrickards.It's easier to set the picture centered when using RGBtoHDMI.

@aihk @DosFox Congrats! Another new #AppleLisaClone!

Before this, it was in a wooden crate, which I thought was appropriate as it’s homemade and reaches back to the typical cases the Apple 1 ended up in.
Yes, that’s an arcade player 1 start button on the side as a power button 😁

My Lisa clone has a new case! A real case, in fact. It’s a mishmash of vintage parts, clone parts, and modern parts. And I built it!
-
It has been 0 days since I installed LisaOS on a #AppleLisaClone.
-
Built a second #ArduinoFile (v4 boards) for the #AppleLisaClone. Happy with how it turned out. In an effort to keep the cable as short as possible, I turned it into a “backpack” of sorts by securing the DB25 to the board with some twisted wire. Neat and tidy! And of course, using rainbow cable is a must! 🌈

Here’s DR Draw on GEMDOS on my #AppleLisaClone
If you want to try GEMDOS on your Lisa, the key for me was you need to have only 1MB of memory installed. ✅ It did not work with 2MB. ❌

There’s also an apps disk with a couple of programs. I think well behaved Atari ST programs will run on Lisa GEMDOS directly.
This is 1st Word Processor which I believe was for Atari ST. The font in the document is a little weird but otherwise works fine!

Wait, what’s this? It looks like an Atari ST screen? And it’s running on my #AppleLisaClone?!
This is #GEMDOS from Digital Research (the CP/M folks) for the #AppleLisa.
The Lisa and GEMDOS was the first development kit for Atari ST TOS which I find fascinating.
It can boot from both floppy (#FloppyEmu) or install it to the ProFile (#ArduinoFile).
I followed these instructions:

I also discovered an issue with #ArduinoFile that was preventing it from accessing data in hard drive images over ~16MB in size (while in MacWorks). Figured out the issue and now I’m almost running out of space on a 32MB image 😅

Susan Kare and Bill Atkinson appreciation post.

If you’re curious, you can read about the R/W issue I was having with the #ArduinoFile in this GitHub issue.
