However, going forward, as people relocate, & as our province harbours the selfish, racists, #fascists & their awful perspectives & policies, life here may not stay as good as it is now. But we keep trying and that's all we can do do: invest where we stand, fight the #Petroculture. -

Originally I planned to do a cycle tour or two over the long Easter weekend, but then the #xzbackdoor fuckup happened and I sat hours in front of my workstation at home or the laptop. So in the end I did a short ride around the block today.

@IPEdmonton The question is what makes something a part of the #fediverse ? The answer is.... Anything that leverages #activitypub. I run an instance of #friendica even though it has about 80% feature match with #Mastodon for two reasons.
1) It was easier to configure and get running on my #SelfHosting setup
2) It has features mastodon doesn't including a community event calendar and #quotesharing (which is a topic of great debate amongst mastodon users)
#fediverse means that you can interact with the streams exactly the way you want. It's not competition, it is a rising tide lifting all boats circumstance. I hope there are 100 microblogging tools out there soon. -
