I got excited thinking that this would be a nice N-S and E-W network of protected bike lanes in a place that didn't have any before, but then I saw that the E-W route was a "conventional bike lane".
It's 2023, drivers park on every available surface in #NYC, and we're installing brand new paint-only bike lanes while we also have a legal mandate to install #PBLs. Such 💩.

When we close streets to cars and open them up to people, we can't just leave them as-is for half a decade. We need to build infrastructure to ensure that cars *can't* come back. Otherwise, it's too tempting for drivers who see a pristine stretch of unclogged road to be like, "hey I could be breaking the speed limits or storing my car there for free!", lobby their local weak-spined politicians, and reclaim the road for SUVs. #BikeNYC #BikeQNS

It was a very rainy weekend indeed here in #NYC #Manhattan #Bronx #CB12MN.
I was bored...
And so, I am continuing my efficacy of #NYPD enforcement of moving violations for #TrafficViolence investigation.
Very basic for now, but I have a scatterplot.Going to build up these pandas arrays (add in camera enforcement, temperature, precipitation, ???) and see what falls out of a random forest.
My thoughts: traffic violence low correlation to moving violation enforcement

At first I completely missed this on-sidewalk #bikeNYC lane around the old Swingline stapler factory. It was only when I got to the light (next to the MTA truck) that I looked over, saw it and hopped onto the sidewalk.
The Jersey barrier protected segment between Van Dam and Skillman makes a bit more sense - but it'll make even more sense when #congestionPricing starts and vehicles flow better!

#BikeNYC I blew out my brakes today commuting home running late for a telecom.
Lucky me Tread Bikes #inwood #nyc tuned me up with new brake pads and had me in and out in under 20 minutes. Near the Hudson River Greenway entrance, Dyckman and Seaman.
Been shopping here for 20 years and it’s still the local run #bike super shop.

I had an air filter attached to the rear of my #Kombi, and then I realized that I couldn't shift. One of the cords that I had used to secure the hepa filter was on the derailleur. It was an easy thing to fix, but it reminded me just how much I hate derailleurs (and any kind of external gears in general). #BikeTooter #CargoBike #BikeNYC #BikeQNS

#Daffodils planted as bulbs late last fall are up on #WestSideHighway Southbound at 100th and along #CherryWalk at 100th. Distinctly, planted them last fall along the highway because within a few years that outer lane will become a #bikenyc lane. Each year I will extend the planting. Good rich soil. Bicyclists move slow enough to appreciate it.
