Certain projects and utilities I try to showcase as soon as they come out of the oven, but lately I've been tending to other, more pressing matters since my move back to #SuperSunnySouthernCalifornia - like chillin' at the #beach, #spearfishing, and of course, bangin' it out with girlfriends I haven't been able to hangout with for over six years.
Life is awesome - and so is #VaultWarden!

Yes, observationally, a .gif has become somewhat synonymous with any relatively short, shitty, meme-ism, much like an .avi, but I would suggest that what you're generating is more of a Fediverse (mastotronic, actually) limitation whereby the user effects a download of the meme in .gif format and it shows up on your storage device as an mp4 file - this is not a limitation of the file format except in the sense of a #Fediverse (in this case, mastotron) limitation.
The conversion occurs when you d/l the graphic to a local file system - and it is shameless.
For example I save them through matrix since they retain their, as you put it, their "crappy 8-bit file format" as intended, instead of the fucking #Frankenstein bullshit that mastopub servers force - Mastodon, by the way, is already on its way out - the Fediverse has left it behind and increasingly, it seeks kludges to remain relevant in the #ActivityPub sectors of the Fediverse.

Host your own email as a matter of principle. You can receive mail from anywhere and those (very few) that can’t receive yours don’t deserve acknowledgement.
Plain and simple. Any other conclusion makes you a punk assed sissy bitch and a piece of fucking shit.
Legally, and IOW, any mails not received from a correctly configured MTA with corresponding correctly configured DNS is a defective SMTP service subject to that distinction in court.
tl;dr If your shit is set up correctly, then the recipient is responsible for not having received your legitimate email communications (keep your logs kiddos, it will give you a win in court).

What's the status (and liability) surrounding all those crowd sourced open #WiFi databases at commercial establishments?
There were several (and prolly still are) #Android apps that could not only locate on a map, but also connect to home, commercial, industrial, and governmental "socalled" guest networks while you were out and about in your travels.
Many of the apps included password store information so the secured networks don't them would autocorrect while you were in range
This is not withstanding the private, residential and business Internet accounts made automatically available to customers with active accounts through the same providers, by default on say, people's home Internet Wi-Fi routers (CPE -provided by the ISP) without fully discussing to them that upon installation, they announced a guest network publicly that shared their household bandwidth.
This is a deep discussion that should spark some interesting perspectives.

Went on an awesome date tonight!
Picked up this beautiful lady at her place, and she was keen on doing a steakhouse thing together.
We hit it off really well and I was excited to be with such a vibrant, adventerous woman.
After a couple of drinks we decided to head over to Outback and I unlocked and opened her door. She scoffed under her breath, and as she halfheartedly intended, I heard it.
Oddly, to me, she didn't reach over and unlock my door from her side. Ummm....
Fuck that bitch! We made friendly small talk as I got ready to drop the tranny (pundit) into drive and then I abruptly told this bitch to get thee fuck out my truck. I made it plain enough that there would not be any questions or discussion - abrupt and frank as I was.
Later, I met a nice girl after dinner in the lounge, as sus as one might find, meeting chicks in that sort of randomized scenario, yet often the most truthful.
Yah, no need to say more about people being truthful with each other so there's no crooked roads ahead.
I'll say more after breakfast, but I sense we're cooking it together here at her place, from what I've gathered so far - awesome! A night sleeping next to and holding another human being and fighting over spatulas in the morning!
