  1. In the next iteration of my app i want to have proper test and CI for x86_64 and arm64.
So the next steps will be:
    - try out #testcontainers to provide a #VaultWarden instance
    - maybe send a PR with said container definition upstream
    - get the CI running according to the #Relm4 documentation. That said i need to convert the actions used in the example to #ForgejoActions since i am hosting on #CodeBerg.

Then i will work on more features like the password dialog and the detail page.

  2. @daviwil nice! It's interesting that plausible analytics works with the static hosting at (also, good disclaimer).
requires that all assets are served from your own domain for static pages. I'm good with that requirement, prefer it actually, but having basic analytics of page view and referer would be cool (country is nice but not necessary). I've wondered about playing around with self-hosted on my own domain.

  3. @nichtich

Just found out yesterday that #Codeberg has a libre #ContainerRegistry for FLOSS projects. So, if you're into #Docker soon, this may be relevant. 😉

  4. Here's something interesting for those interested in reduced vendor lock-in in forges: git-bug, a "distributed" bug tracker "fully embedded in Git" that "prevents vendor lock-in" and doesn't "pollute your project" with "bridges to other bug trackers".

  5. @Codeberg Pretty much everything from @ladigitale is #NotOnGitHub - great educational resources 👍

  6. Finally got around to trying #Codeberg. They didn't force me to provide a credit card and they do sha256!

Testing the waters with my latest project, an #OCapN implementation in #Rust. I'll share it when it kinda does something but I already have that #Spritely syrup format implemented.

    Working on netlayers now.

IT Professional are forced and sometimes fond to use Microsoft software beyond the usual system, mail, login and office stuff: Visual Studio (with online account coercion, extra telemetry and such), Team Foundation Server, Azure and more.

That's why Codeberg is so valuable.

#Microsoft has been #lifework awarded by Digitalcourage. Codeberg is an alternative to part of the above mentioned Microsoft bugs and works well with free programming editors.

  10. Ever tried a #TilingWindowManager for an efficient workflow? Using #Wayland already?

Check out codeberg.org/river/river #riverWM, a tiling Wayland compositor.

It supports custom "layout generators" and we found an active ecosystem of tools and plugins for the project.

If you know some #Ziglang, you can start hacking right away, or dive into the #ziglings excercises to learn it: codeberg.org/ziglings/exercise

Let us know what you think if you tried it!

  11. #CommunitySpotlight: We are still underway towards #ClimateCrisis. Switching to #GreenEnergy alone won't save us.

We recommend everyone to read in Wim Vanderbauwhede's blog wimvanderbauwhede.codeberg.pag and especially this article about frugal computing for a better idea about the problem: wimvanderbauwhede.codeberg.pag

  12. #CommunitySpotlight: Are you concerned about #BigTech, but still cannot fully escape them? Do you use (or just learned about) alternative frontends for popular services?

Check out #LibRedirect on #Codeberg, a browser addon which redirects many proprietary sites to alternative viewers.

  13. #CommunitySpotlight: No #Apple user? Annoyed by people trying to #airdrop something to you?

Recommend them to try #LocalSend and get in touch with the maintainers via #Codeberg: codeberg.org/localsend/localse

  14. For our users that work within education, we recommend having a look at learntools. It allows to replace commonly used proprietary solutions in schools with a privacy-respecting digital classroom suite.

  15. #CommunitySpotlight from our recent blog post blog.codeberg.org/letter-from-:

What to do with things you do no longer need? Do you want to avoid using #eBay?

Check out the self-hosted flohmarkt (German for flea market) for the job, an ActivityPub-based federated small trade platform. With the active development being less than a year old, you should expect some unfinished touches, though, but it's ready to give it a try!

All the best to the contributors!

  16. From our latest #CommunitySpotlight:

  19. From a simple issue (#312) on (next ) finally dumps the legacy -F/--full option names in favor of much more accurate and easier to explain -e/--expanded. Easier because -F hasn't been full output for over 10 years, and -F now actually expands -b/--basic, so noting that -e expands basic is a lot more logical than explaining that --full is not actually full at all, not even close. -F now listed as deprecated to avoid confusion in help/man. Redid -v too, all consistent now.

  20. @Codeberg so it was with a sigh of relief that I switched all my repos to Archived read only status, which has the benefit of also turning off all future pull requests, which you can't disable on gh otherwise. Soimetime in the future I'll start repo by repo removing all the code, and just leaving the README.txt as pointer to the codeberg repo.

This already happened for the inxi-perl branch (), docs, tarballs.

So for all practical purposes this frees me from gh and its users.

  21. Syncing the issues is not straight-forward. I'm not sure it's really possible right now. Might have to close one of the issue trackers 🤔

  22. Unicorn Sausage is an ongoing effort of mine to create a "Bizarro Sierra On-Line", where virtually all of the code, art, music, and content is 100% free and open. Code is to be released freely on #Codeberg, and art/music assets will somehow all get uploaded to #OpenGameArt / #OpenAudio.

There are at least seven games in varying stages of development, with dozens of other concepts buried deep in my notes. Slowly, I'm sharpening my craft, and learning to do things that were once impossible for me. I program, draw sprites and backgrounds, and even compose music. Much of it still needs improvement.

Right now, US is a solo effort. Game development is a massive interest and hobby of mine, even though my focus and attention span go all over the place. It is my hope that I will at least finish one game before I grow old and die. Maybe over time, Unicorn Sausage can be a collective effort.

I don't have a website or anything yet, but you can actively check out my games from repos hosted here: https://codeberg.org/UnicornSausage
