As a parent of a married 20-something child, I'm beginning to appreciate being able to live vicariously through them and their tales of holiday travels and visiting in-laws.
As a recluse and a general homebody, this is what I am thankful for this year. Not travelling. 🤣

Can #TIOBE die already? There's really no legitimate reason to give the TIOBE Programming Community index any oxygen other than clickbait.
"Willard: They told me that you had gone totally insane, and that your methods were unsound.
TIOBE: Are my methods unsound?
Willard: I don't see any method at all, sir." -
On the plus side, stumbling across a bug and learning that it's already been reported goes a little ways towards tempering my #ImposterSyndrome (or at least vindicating a small portion of my sanity).
Those two hours of wrasslin' with it until you locate the report though...

Although it's not mentioned in the "In Popular Culture" section of the article, I first came across the term from the English band Shriekback's "Hapax Legomena" [1983]:

Happy Exploding Whale Day for those that celebrate!🎉
Today is the 55th anniversary of the blowing up of a giant whale carcass on the beach in the town of Florence, Oregon.

Coming off the train at my local station last night, I noticed a totally not-ominous, very welcoming piece of the station's #PublicArt installation while leaving.

Another mis-adventure in local municipalities signing up for Data-Breach-As-A-Service in the name of "public safety".😡

Off the top of my head, I can't really think of many/any bands that cover #PsychicTV; but, this particular one is a favorite in my book.
Since the original Dreams Less Sweet[1983] release, I've always been fond of these lyrics:
"When all the numbers swim together and all the shadows settle
When doors forced open shut again a flytrap and a petal
My eyes burn and claws rush in to fill them
And in the morning after the night i fall in love with the light
It is so clear i realize and here at last i have my eyes"Califone - The Orchids

As part of their attempt to dissuade reckless behavior in the park, I can appreciate the State Forest Department's little homage to Magritte: "Ceci n'est pas un sentier", I guess?

Oh. And to wrap up the day, we spun the wheel and randomly ended up at a wonderful, new(for us) Szechuan restaurant where I had the most cumin-iest lamb dish that numbed my mouth and almost overwhelmed me.
I had no idea that cumin was capable of doing that! Highly recommend!
It was a day of nice, little discoveries. Days like this are keepers. -
Awesome day today!
Got to take one of our semi-annual trips up north with my daughter and her husband. Despite the pissing down rain, we headed up into #SkagitValley onto #ChuckanutDriveWe took a nice walk down to the water in #LarrabeeStatePark to check out the rock formations, moss, lichen, and a few teeny mushrooms. Managed to get a bunch of pictures and I'm looking forward to sorting through them tomorrow.
Also stopped by one of my favorite local cheesemongers(Samish Bay Cheese) in the area and picked up partial wheel of cheese and some lebneh cheesecake.
Here's one with my daughter looking south down onto #SamishBay
