I read an interesting interview of Johnathan Flowers recently, on the affordances, lack of organization and funding in the fediverse, and sentiment of oppression https://techpolicy.press/the-whiteness-of-mastodon/ . QT is indeed as much a weapon for the marginalized to challenge the oppressors, as it is for far-right supremacists to doxx and perpetuate the domination.
To me this relates to the debate between #accel and #decel, and the different "flavors" of l/acc, e/acc, r/acc. -

@Quinnae_Moon QTs encourage performative posts rather than conversations. That may be fine to show up the powerful, but it has drawbacks when used to punch down.
Those with large followings can decline to discuss in the replies, instead repeatedly summoning their followers to dunk on a dissenter.
It's nuanced though, because QT is also used against "reply guys" and sealioning.

There was a discussion on #woke and #cancelculture around #twitter on #ABCRadioNational this morning. It really only involved #journalists so it wasn't representative but all of them saw an impacted Twitter feed as being #censorship which I disagree with. Far too many journalists on Twitter used it to do their work for them IMHO. -

You do you, be you. I've given up on formality and daily wear t-shirts and jeans. (Ok, to be fair the t-shirts have quotes from #medievaldrama or #TEI markup on them.)
If the pandemic taught us anything it is that we don't need to dress formally for work... Or indeed weddings.

But so far it seems the books have not been translated. Do you have a list of languages #TheBabySittersClub was not translated into?
