  1. CW: US Politics, Kamala Harris, Trump

I've been thinking about those people who refused to vote for Harris because she was still pro-zionist or not far enough to the left or whatever other reasons they gave.

And I hear the argument about avoiding the middle road, but for many of us, this isn't a theoretical exercise in theory. The reality is that the outcome of that election has had a direct, measurable body count. While the Democrats are deeply flawed, the alternative has resulted in the blood of millions. Choosing not to act, or voting for a candidate with no path to victory, was a functional choice for the current administration and the destruction that followed.

Think about all the lives that have been lost because the left was apathetic. She was a bad candidate and I would not vote for her in a primary, but she was the best choice and now we are suffering for it.

  4. I had to go to Wal-Mart because my current mouse died and I just needed something simple to get me by until I can get something better. I rarely go to Wal-Mart, but my small town has no other options. Anyways, I was standing in line for the one checkout register they had open and a man infront of me (very nice man with one arm) offered to let me go ahead. I graciously declined. I told him I wasn't using the self-checkout out of principle and was willing to wait. The woman in front of him gave me the craziest look, like I was an alien or something. I don't understand why this concept would be so foreign to someone, especially someone already standing in line for a cashier.

I don't use self checkout because they want to use it to hire less cashiers. They open less checkout lanes to force you to use the self-checkout. There is a lot of psychology to it.

Also, if I make a mistake and don't scan something by accident, I am at fault and can be prosecuted. They watch you like you're going to steal from them. I don't like it and would like to remove that part of the equation altogether.

I don't get a discount for scanning my own items. I get no benefit, other than not having to stand in line for their cashiers.

  6. Here is my Steam Replay 2025. This year was very hot or cold, depending on the moment. A lot of things happened in which changed both my method and my ability to play games at the time. Baldur's Gate 3, by far, is still the best game I have played since it's release (which I also played a ton of during its "early access" period.

  10. One concept that I love from the Library Economy Philosophy is the idea that “books are for use” and not for hoarding, which originates from the idea that knowledge and information should be accessible to everyone, not just those who can afford it.

When we apply this philosophy to our daily lives, it’s remarkable how easily the concept translates. For instance, consider the intentional communities like Twin Oaks in Virginia or The Farm in Tennessee, where members share resources, skills, and labor to create a thriving ecosystem. Or think about tool libraries, bike-sharing systems, or food cooperatives that promote sharing and reuse.

When we adopt this philosophy beyond books, it is clear that material equality should be our ultimate goal. Everyone should have the opportunity to eat before someone else can get seconds.

So, what can we do to start implementing this philosophy in our own lives?

  12. I got a little distracted from moving and started tinkering with my server. With the recommendation of @petrosophia (Thank you!) I setup Komodo. I am glad I did. It is amazing! I'm sure I'm only scratching the surface with my newbie little docker compose files, but it is so helpful! I transferred each compose file directly into Komodo and it is super organized! I then got Pi-hole setup. Everything is organized wiith Homarr. I'm really happy with how everything is working.
