unless you're developing a program for an environment where every byte of memory counts, you're probably just using the standard integer (or maybe a 64-bit integer, if you know the value's going beyond 2 or 4 billion)

on modern 64-bit machines, there isn't much of a performance benefit in intentionally operating on smaller variables

heck, in some languages, like #JavaScript or #Lua, the default numeric type isn't even an integer at all, but rather a double-size floating point number -- if you ever wondered why the twitter api returned user id numbers as both numbers and strings, or why #balatro suddenly goes into naneinf numbers after e308, that's why

Balatro (at least the iOS version) seems to give the player a lot of opportunities for flushes with the seed RN8AHGXM (blue/red deck, white stake): in 12 of the first 14 rounds (1, 3-8 and 10-14), you can get 5 cards of the same suit with one discard or no discards at all.
