  1. Turning A Big Dial Taht Says "Civilization" On It And Constantly Looking Back At The Audience For Approval Like A Contestant On The Price Is Right

  2. #Firaxis just announced "Test of Time", a free update for #CivilizationVII and honestly, it feels like the game I was waiting for since launch.

The forced #civ-switching between Ages is gone 🔥 You now start as one civilisation and stay as one, with customised cultural combinations that shape how your empire evolves. Exactly what I called from day one.

(The old Age-switching is still there for those who want it)

Add a reworked Victory system, 90+ new Triumph objectives and a new map type on top of that, and Civ 7 has gone from a frustrating mess to something actually worth my time.

Now we only need the Modern Age — and maybe a Future Age — and the game is complete.

Drops 19 May 2026. Better late than never.

  5. Each news tidbit I hear about #CivilizationVII the more I'm convinced it's still secretly in Early Access. Woof. Latest one, rockpapershotgun.com/civilizat - making the ballyhooed 'ages' system essentially optional after all the outcry; and some naval combat overhaul that again feels like the sort of change you see during EA dev periods.

Civ definitely not beating the "always wait to buy the new one until it's had at least 1-2 major DLC out" allegations this time around…
