Tak jak chiński model AI Deep Seek R1 głęboko poruszył branżę sztucznej inteligencji denerwując przy okazji OpenAI i Microsoft, tak kolejna chińska firma: DEEPRobotics, ze swoim robotem Lynx ma szansę „zdenerwować” Boston Dynamics.
DEEPRobotics Lynx to kolejny krok w ekspansji chińskiej sztucznej inteligencji na rynki zaawansowanych technologii. Najpierw głośno było o Deep Seek AI, chińskim odpowiedniku OpenAI, który ma konkurować z ChatGPT, a teraz DEEPRobotics prezentuje czteronożnego robota Lynx, który przypomina konstrukcje znane z amerykańskiej Boston Dynamics.
Chińska firma DEEPRobotics od dłuższego czasu pracuje nad zaawansowanymi robotami kroczącymi, a model Lynx to ich najnowsza propozycja. Robot jest przeznaczony zarówno do zadań przemysłowych, jak i do zastosowań w badaniach naukowych, nadzorze czy eksploracji trudnego terenu. Choć patrząc na jego akrobacje, z pewnością wielu z was skojarzy się z pewnym odcinkiem serialu „Black Mirror” (podpowiem: chodzi o odcinek pt. „Metalhead”).
Niemniej unikając dystopijnych skojarzeń, Lynx, wykorzystujący algorytmy AI do poruszania się po skomplikowanym terenie, może być interesującym urządzeniem np. do celów ratowniczych, robot ten może również wykonywać inspekcje przemysłowe, np. po awariach, oczywiście trudno wykluczyć również zastosowania militarne. Konstrukcja chińskiego robota wskazuje na silną inspirację rozwiązaniami Boston Dynamics – zwłaszcza modelem Spot, choć nie jest to urządzenie wyłącznie kroczące, bo ma również kółka. Patrząc na dość nowe wideo opublikowane przez chińską firmę, prezentujące istne akrobacje na śniegu i lodzie, jakie wykonuje robot Lynx, wydaje się, że jakiekolwiek problemy z motoryką w robotyce należą już do przeszłości.
Lynx nie jest tylko demonstratorem technologii, to w pełni komercyjny produkt, który można zamówić i kupić. Ile kosztuje to urządzenie? Równowartość 17 999 dolarów amerykańskich, czyli ok. 75 000 zł.

Yesterday I took a trip down memory lane going for a ride in my Dad's neighbours 1938 Riley Lynx. He brought it for half a crown. Only 60 remain in the world! As kids we used to wait for him to return from work and ask to go for a ride in the car. Nine years ago I visited the Riley as the neighbour was restoring it after a long time off the road. We spoke about the fun times and how it would be wonderful to go for a ride again. Today we did just that.
