    Introducing Amazon Loopwire for ActivityPub

    AWS today announced Amazon Loopwire for ActivityPub, a fully managed, serverless, hyper-federated social graph threading solution that allows developers to send a toot from one AWS region to another for only $0.0000043 per toot, with the first 47... sorry, the first 50 toots free each month.

    Loopwire integrates natively with Amazon Simple Queue Service, Amazon Simple Notification Service, Amazon Simple Storage Service, and the new Amazon Simple Social Posting and Syndication Orchestration Service, which AWS insists on calling SSPSSOS and pronouncing as a single word.

    The service is available today in us-east-1, with all other regions expected to follow sometime before the heat death of the universe, per standard AWS rollout procedures.

    AWS product manager Derek Fontaine described Loopwire as "basically Mastodon but with an IAM policy attached to every single follow request," adding that enterprises can now spend up to six weeks configuring permissions before federating with a single person who posts pictures of their cat.

    Loopwire for ActivityPub is covered under the AWS Free Tier, the AWS Well-Architected Framework, the AWS Shared Responsibility Model, and a terms of service document that is longer than the ActivityPub specification itself.

    Studying Eagle Farm's convict & aviation history I found footage of Amy Johnson's arrival in #Brisbane at the end of her 1930 Eng-Aus solo flight. It's not clear from footage but she crash landed. Given the chaotic number of people, it's a miracle she could land anywhere aso.gov.au/titles/newsreels/ar

    I am on a massive OSS deep dive yesterday and today. There are so many great tools out there that people are making.

    https://moldavite.dev looks like a promising notes replacement. Seems like a good Obsidian alternative.

    I’ve got my own setup with markdown files and a WordPress Studio site that stays local on my MacBook. It’s been a fun experiment that even changed the block editor to enable me to “edit in place” instead of opening the post editor.

    I might give this one a try.
