  1. Two things to do on my day off tomorrow. Vote in the provincial election and go to the Halloween store.

One should be pretty scary, the other is the Halloween store. Zing!

Seriously though. Can we be done with the cons garbage already? You know the old saying, “one step forward, two steps back”? That’s all they offer; dragging progress backwards. Then we’ve got to waste more time fixing everything they’ve broken.

    C’maan people! #Vote #MBPoli #Manitoba #WpgPoli #Winnipeg #CanPoli

  2. The City of Winnipeg is working very hard to hide the truth about the claimed benefits of the proposed widening of Route 90.

Many of the claims run counter to general modern road design concepts, but even the city's own data contradicts the claims.

This post does a great job breaking the mythical claims down

  3. There's so many awful narratives,, and crappy policy ideas floating around in #winnipeg and #manitoba more broadly that I feel negligent not speaking out, not amplifying the sense amid the nonsense.

It's been a while since I've been really engaged online, and I don't I've quite mastered Mastodon, so I apologize in advance if mess anything up 🙂

  4. The latest Dear Winnipeg blog post from Elmwood guy is timely. While #Winnipeg streets get plowed of snow, so many of the sidewalks and bike lanes are left unnavigable. We need to do better. #DearWinnipeg #ElmwoodGuy #WpgPoli

  5. Great post on residential streets and sidewalk clearing costs from Elmwood Guy.

Sidewalks are cheaper to clear than streets. Should we cut back on street clearing in favour of sidewalks? 🤔

  6. I remember when I first dipped my toes in the #fediverse maybe four years ago, and did some searching for people from #winnipeg and #manitoba I was disappointed to find mostly biased political ranting. After a point, I just stopped searching, and focused on enjoying the interesting ideas bouncing around.

Now, with the exodus from the birdsite, it''s exciting to see all the new local (to me) folks showing up here.

Maybe I'll start posting more about #wpgpoli and #mbpoli now 😉
