Back in 2008, we thought it would be a great idea to visit Winnipeg (nickname: Winterpeg) in the middle of winter. It was cold, to put it mildly. I think it was one of the years the Red River beat the Rideau Canal as the longest skating rink in the world or something to that effect. Didn't stop us from walking around outside, though. Even walked on the icy river. Loved how the condensation on my glasses turned into ice as soon as I stepped outside.
