Filed a feature request in the GNOME Settings app for what I consider to be the only thing I'm missing compared to the nm-connection-editor app: the ability to nickname those ridiculously named WiFis to something you can actually understand and recognize as a visitor.

Wi-Fi 7 is still relatively new, but TP-Link is already looking ahead to Wi-Fi 8.
At IFA 2026, the company unveiled the Archer 8 Ultra and Deco 8 Ultra, promising up to 19 Gbps and 22 Gbps of aggregate wireless bandwidth, respectively.
The bigger story may not be speed, though. Wi-Fi 8 is putting more emphasis on reliability, range, congestion, and interference.

#Wifi #networking question. I've got a building on my property that's basically a Faraday cage - no wifi or cell signal inside. I'd like to extend my #mesh wifi network so there's signal inside. Can I just add two mesh routers connected by an #ethernet cable, one in the building, one out? Or should I do something else?

I also added the 3 #wifi #antennas because the downstairs wifi isn't very strong at my lab, so maybe I'll enable the wifi on the #OpenWRTOne at some point in the future... and anyway it's a good way of not losing the antennas 😅 -

I can’t get the #RaspberryPi 3 to connect to the #WiFi. The SSID appears in the network manager, and it prompts for password. It seems to like it, but I never get an IP address.
I tried sudo nmcli dev wifi connect “SSID” password “PASSWORD”
But eventually that says Error: connection activation failed: (53) The Wi-Fi network could not be found.
