Leadership in Washington is cutting programs left and right, denying people health care, food, and the other things necessary for survival. Meanwhile, NASA just launched a set of astronauts on a Moon mission, the first in decades.

So I feel the time is right to revisit this song.....

I can't imagine why this came to mind...

(Yes I know one of the astronauts is black. And I know they're not going to be on the moon. But still.)

A good time to listen to this one now.

----------

I can't pay no doctor bills
But Whitey's on the moon
Ten years from now I'll be paying still
While Whitey's on the moon

You know, the man just upped my rent last night
Cause Whitey's on the moon
No hot water, no toilets, no lights
But Whitey's on the moon

Interesting that #Musk's #Doge hasn't shut down a single #NASA mission.
Is it because he told them don't target #WhiteyOnTheMoon? Or on Mars?

From the comments. An irl representation of Gil Scott-Heron's "Whitey On The Moon":

"Blind Willie Johnson was an early 1900’s blues musician who died poor at 48 after becoming sick from sleeping under wet newspapers in the ruins of his house that burned down, but his music left the solar system on that record." https://www.facebook.com/groups/physdashastro/permalink/916301746527392/
