FRED NEIL
Everybody's Talkin'
1971 U.S. reissue
[orange labels]A masterful songwriter, and a dude that had a LOT to do with a young Bob Dylan hitting the stage at Cafe Wha? in Greenwich Village.
It still shocks me how many people think that “Everybody’s Talkin’” is a Harry Nilsson song, when in fact it was Neil who wrote it.
That song only became a hit when Nilsson’s version was featured in the 1969 movie Midnight Cowboy.SUCH a hit that Neil’s self-titled ‘66 album (THIS ONE), was reissued under the name Everybody’s Talkin’, in order to capitalize on the film’s (and song’s) success.
The album however is much more than that one song.
The Dolphins is absolutely beautiful, as is Neil’s take on the traditional tune “Sweet Cocaine”.A laid back and stellar 38 minutes.
Just such a great record.#vinyl #vinylrecords #vinylcommunity #records #vintage #retro #physicalmedia #analog #vinylcollection #art #music #60s #1960s #60smusic #folk

The prompt is #brassHerb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass, “A Taste of Honey” from Whipped Cream & Other Delights (1965)
I didn’t set out to be so literal with the band name, I just wanted the sound, and here we are. Is it cheesy? Well, dairy-adjacent - but c'mon, it is in fact a delight.
I have learned that this song was originally written by Bobby Scott and Ric Marlow for the 1960 Broadway version of the 1958 British play A Taste of Honey,, which was also made into a film of the same name in 1961, and that this recording earned four Grammys! In addition, #TheBeatles recorded and released a vocal version of this song on their first album, Please Please Me. I somehow had never connected those dots.
If memory serves, Mom had a crush on #HerbAlpert. I get it, Mom.

Bit of a #showerThought ... John Fogerty definitely has a unique pronunciation of a lot of things, but WHAT THE HELL accent is he doing in the song Proud Mary?
It's like a weird attempt at Southern but with some hilarious “oy" Yiddish vowel sounds in there.
"woykin’ for the man”
"big wheel keep on toynin’”
"proud mary keep on boynin’”🤣

izquierda Aleister Crowley y derecha Paul McCartney
Sitios web como «The Paul Is Dead Archives», «Beatles Conspiracy Forum» y «Crowley’s Connection» albergaban extensas investigaciones que incluían:
📚 Investigaciones detalladas
- Subreddits dedicados a analizar evidencia histórica
