It's very satisfying making our own compost. But it is a labour of love. All three sections dug out and either moved onto a vegetable bed, or into the next container moving right to left. Yr1, Yr2, Yr3.

Today has been mostly about re-roofing our wood store. I have cut the 5 plywood sheets to length and painted what will be the underside.

These are fir needles on a tarp. In the current drought perfectly healthy (so far at least!) fir trees are shedding needles which rain down on you with every wind gust through the tree tops. Some amount of this is normal in summer but this year the volume is astounding.
We could really really use some rain. Actually, make that a LOT.

Busy day today, the good kind of busy.
Took the tractor and the "new" rear box to the forest. Offloading that 130kg beast using my rickety old ramps went better than I feared. Put it to good use right away rounding up some remaining wood slices. It's a good fit to the tractor, weight- & width-wise.
Finished the "logging camp" with a second tarp to store the implements under. This is where my chisel plow will live.
Got a lot of other jobs done as well and now I'm knackered.

God tractor hydraulics are such a complete rabbit hole. 🙄 Small wonder people would rather buy a different tractor than research and deal with changed requirements.

#CountryLife means sharing space with critters, all kinds of critters - small-to-large. We celebrate our spiders, leaving webbing alone where it doesn’t interfere. Today, there are tons of baby lizards exploring - darting around looking for insects and avoiding predators. Couple of young bucks hanging out down by our fenced garden.
