🙄 Der #Reolink Chime der #ReolinkDoorbellCam scheint defekt.
Der klingelt sehr unzuverlässig. Also quasi nie. 😒 Das hat mal sehr zuverlässig funktioniert.
Auch der #RTSP Stream ist nicht zuverlässig. In Frigate sieht man ständig abgebrochene Streams.
Hab bei der Analyse festgestellt, dass der Klingeltravo nur 10V~ liefert. Die Kamera aber 12V~ mindestens braucht. Also hab ich heute nen neuen eingebaut. -

I think the most annoying and disturbing discovery about this temporary no internet run is the fact that my fucking #Eufy cameras are useless without internet.
I bought a bunch of em, eventho they're a lot expensive than other cheap alternatives from #Tapo/#TP-Link and #Xiaomi bcos they're "supposed" to be offline and not connected (or at least, not reliant) to the cloud, yada yada, but quickly after I bought them, despite that being their marketing for the product - they were called out in multiple occasions that that's just not true.
Anyway, yea, from last night till ~2pm today, it's been recording fuckin' nothing. Bloody hell, please, avoid Eufy and #Anker products at all cost. After I got into #HomeAssistant, and doing more research on security cam products, #Reolink (and Tapo) seems to be where it's at and what you should actually get. -

Eine Frage ins Netzwerk.
Ich bin auf der Suche nach einer kostenlosen und Quelloffenen IVR Software für meine Reolink Kameras.
Vorrausetzung wäre auch das man diese ggf. als Virtuelle Maschine unter Proxmox installieren kann (also Linux) und das man darauf über eine Weboberfläche zugreifen kann.
Denn irgendwie erkennt mein Reolink IVR meine weiteren Kameras nicht direkt im IVR. Warum auch immer.
So wäre das schon nett wenn man dann die Kameras über Home-Assistant und anderem IVR steuern könnte.

Operation #Disenshittification took another step forward yesterday: I replaced my #Arlo video doorbell with a #Reolink, connected to my #Synology DiskStation.
Arlo has increasingly become enshittified as they’ve become increasingly aggressive in pushing customers to over to their cloud based subscription model. It’s a shame, because I’ve got close to $1000 invested in their hardware, but I’m sick of the nag-screens and shrinking functionality.

Through the entire day I've done NOTHING useful... Didn't even go out!😅
Spent some time trying to trick #UniFi to work with my cheap #YI camera, because as of now #Ubiquity #Protect supports #ONVIF in Early Access. I've upgraded camera's firmware to a one that has ONVIF but I guess it is in changelog only...😅
When that failed, I proceeded to browse through various security-like cameras of #Tapo and #Reolink. I don't really need it but at least it might be slightly cheaper...😂

New setup for my three #Reolink cameras: #RTMP streaming from camera to #MediaMTX, which is streaming to #Synology Surveillance Station over #RTSP, and #HomeAssistant. Motion events generated by the cameras are passed to Home Assistant using #cam2mqtt, and HA takes care of all the recording rules.
Eventually I might drop SSS in favor of #Scrypted #NVR.

I wish I had an elegant way to wall mount the #reolink (or really any #securitycameras ) to a 4" gang box. The existing mounts for motion detectors use a 1/2" npt conduit, and I can't find a nice way to just leverage that. Hrmph.

After getting #frigate running well, I'm debating if just using the #reolink #homeassistant integration is "good enough". I'd miss out on #go2rtc restreaming (well, feels unnecessary), have to cook up some nice rich notifications myself, and turn on the #nest app notifications again. Hrm.
