Key points: safety (of workers and the public) is fourth in the list of priorities (meaning, it's not one), while "customer satisfaction" is the first one--where customers are the corporations shipping fuel and toxic chemicals through cities, especially poor (and mostly Black) neighborhoods. See the meaning of "wrong side of the tracks"
And yet, #RailRoadWorkers aren't allowed to strike.
Because "the economy" and "public good".

Given that Biden made it illegal for the #RailroadWorkers to strike, it's rich that Buttigieg is now "shocked" that #NorfolkSouthern gives exactly zero shits about the risk to children's lives.
Remember: one of the concerns of railroad workers was the length of the trains. See: constant derailments.

I wish the #railroadworkers had gotten paid sick leave.
But many lefty sources are totally silent on the 24% pay increase. That ain't chopped liver!
In my 1st #union #contract, I got a token 3 sick days — hardly anything. But I also got a 23% pay increase, which was life-changing.
Now I'm on the committee bargaining for our 2nd contract. Among other things, we are pushing for a lot more sick leave.
That's how #labor work goes. The stuff you don't get this time, you try to get next time.

I'm not going to assume the actions the rail workers will take will be a strike, per se, but I'm going to anticipate disruption of some kind.
The disruption will likely be painful - esp b/c the average US citizen hates feeling deprived and disrupted in *any* way. This CBS news item from November gives me an idea of what to expect.
