This is outrageous sexism.
Even if it weren't for the sexism, it's a clear disruption to workers' work-life-balance.
My view on this issue is that some managers in the Australian Public Service have made a unilateral decision to change working conditions that had been agreed-on earlier and shown for some time to be a perfectly acceptable practice. That demonstrates the employer is untrustworthy. To then remove those work-from-home conditions without consultation with workers shows an unwillingness to be flexible and a lack of respect for workers. To cap it all off, the claim that the return-to-office "mandate" is a cost-saving measure is clearly untrue and those managers are are being disingenuous.
