This game is criminally underrated. It has a very retro-like run-and-gun chaos to it, but it also has a solid open world mission structure with fun vehicle combat and a Mad Max-meets-Borderlands vibe.

Back in the '90s and '00s I spent many, many hours playing Doom (1 & 2) and Quake (1) - even (or especially) more than a decade after the games came out.
So when I in the early 2010s learned about a new game from id Software, Rage, I was excited. The game was barely passable - and definitely no Doom nor Quake.
Fast forward to me having spent hundreds of hours playing Rage 2 and Doom Eternal in 2025. And my verdict: *Rage 2* is THE best id game!

Just finished Rage 2. Recommended.
The gunplay can be fun, even indulgent—but most everything else lacks spirit. The setting is trite, the story is stupid, and the characters are unmemorable.

Do you like things that go "splorch" when you shoot them? If you answered 'yes', Rage 2 might be the game for you!
Rage 2 is a sequel to Rage, a post-apocalyptic FPS. I played 27 minutes of Rage back in 2022, and found it a bit repetitive and grindy, and visually it was many shades of brown, grey, and black.
Rage 2 is BRIGHT! There's a woman with a blue mohawk and white facepaint screaming out of a pink and yellow background on the Steam header, like an escapee from Mad Max Fury Road.
The game is set about 30 years after the end of Rage, and the antagonist from Rage who wanted to take over the world is back, and he's pissed.
...and mostly robotic. He's been living underground and has amassed a ragtag army of mutants to... take over the world.
Where Rage felt grindy and repetitive even within the first 30 minutes, Rage 2 felt more... fun. However, I've only really completed what is essentially the intro, and gotten my first vehicle and a handful of quests, so maybe it will turn out to be less fun as time goes by.
In any case, I now have an alternative post-apocalyptic shoot-and-splorch game to Outriders.

- #TinyTinasWonderlands is fun; it's more fun than I found #Borderlands3 to be. Ashly Burch, Wanda Sykes, Will Arnett, AND Andy Samberg doing VA? Oh yeah. That's the good shit.
- #SpiderManRemastered is great on PC, and pretty much nails down the idea of me playing any FPS or RPGs on console moving forward.
- #RedDeadRedemption2 has a single player storyline and I had no idea. It's... not my usual cup of tea, but it's definitely something I'll play through slowly.
- #GothamKnights has a vibe I really like. Playing as Batgirl, because of course I am, being the only playable female character.
- #Rage2 seems like fun so far, but I'm only in a small way. #Rage... not so much. Feels like a grind, and I'll probably free up some HDD space.
- #Chorus: some critics disliked the storyline. I'm loving it, and the flight model is just awesome. Once you get your head around the drift mechanic. Oh yeah.
- #Dinkum... not loving it as much as I thought I would. It's not bad; I missed the whole #ACNH thing during the pandemic, and I feel like there was probably a social aspect there as well, and I'm not great at the social side of things.
- Got so fed up with #EGS that I bought #Control Ultimate Edition on Steam for $15, and started over, and -once I sorted out the stuttering graphics- it's SO good.

Podsumowanie Black Week na jednym zdjęciu. Pięć gier, z czego trzy nowe, oraz pad do Xboxa Series X.
Wszystko łącznie za jakieś 290 zł wliczając w to wysyłkę. :) Jestem zadowolony. Przez najbliższe pół roku nie mam już powodu kupować żadnych gier. :D

Просмотрев сюжетную сцену, почувствовал, что мне показывают блокбастер студии #marvel: вот твоих сородичей убивают, а вот, главный злодей убивает твоего отца, а ты лежишь и ничего не можешь поделать. Теперь иди и мсти всю игру. Точно такая же мотивация оказывается в #LastOfUs2 (совпадение, опять дочь и отец) и слабой #Rage2 (сын и мать), и, припоминается, в любом #FarCry.
Наверное надо быть Кодзимой, чтобы придумать что-то новое и сделать AAA-игру. А так получается большой #gamedev переживает упадок и #говно. Вся надежда только на #indiegamedev, который только и способен родить новые идеи.
