    And as anybody would expect, who knows him a bit, he hit the ground running (though that seems slow, when it comes to Marek) and has already the first MRs for #RADV merged, eg. gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/me (read the MR description to know, why I've linked it 😉).

    This is certainly a loss for #AMD and a major win for #Valve

    Actualmente en Linux hay dos drivers de Vulkan para tarjetas AMD. El primero es RADV, que está desarrollado por Valve y es el que usas por defecto. El segundo es AMDVLK, que estaba siendo desarrollado por AMD, y que es peor en todo salvo en raytracing.

Ich hatte zum Testen ja noch amdvlk drauf, weil ich für ältere GPUs eine etwas angestaubte Version (2023.Q3.3, wird im Git Repo als letzte Version mit Pre-RDNA-Support aufgeführt) als "Legacy"-Paket in mein Debian-Repo geworfen habe. Ich habe bisher noch keinen Use Case gefunden, der amdvlk rechtfertigt, radv scheint ja echt in allen Belangen besser zu sein ​:neocat_up:​
