Trying to fix various issues along with enemy AI for a mini RTT game in #construct3 .The blue ones are player units, the others are enemies. I’ve realized this is quite a tough job, but the results aren’t bad at all considering C3’s capabilities. What do you think?

Is anyone running across #students suffering from surprising lacks of preparation such as, having zero concept of a file system? Or who had never seen a URL before? Starting two years ago, we started noticing more and more students who did not have any notion of what a directory/folder or a file was, and it seems their app based lives are no longer involving web browsers.

Any thoughts on Kindle vs nook?

There's a reference book (Design & Implementation of FreeBSD) I want to get that is half price for an electronic version. Seems like those are the only options besides a 50USD per month subscription to O'Reilly or just getting the print version.

I learned some #ruby over the last year or so. In between, I took some time for JS since it's so common and dabbled in Python for an existing #FOSS project.

Nothing against JS and Python, but I recently realized that I really missed Ruby. There's something about it that really does make #programmig seem more fun.

I was working through the #odinproject #Ruby path but got sidetracked with #js and then ended up taking a few months off, so I need a refresher.

I listened to Deep Work by Cal Newport. Had some good tips and pitfalls that I currently do.

How do you pick one thing to focus on? Meaning, #frontend is interesting, but I lose interest after a while. So then I focus on #Ruby and #rubyonsnails . Then, I get interested in more low-level stuff only to return to frontend.
