As the #postoffice #horizon scandal reveals more & more details of appalling behaviour by #management at the PO & #Fujitisu, we now seem to be entering a #windrush phase with the Q. of differing treatment of ethnic minority #postmasters & a suspicion that accusations of #fraud were normalised due to #racist assumptions about the proclivities of particular ethnicities of sub-post-office owners.
Once again, we're going to find that #racism is not a problem the country has banished to history.

Rishi #Sunak: #Ban Fujitsu from all #UK public sector #contracts.
Outsourcing IT company #Fujitsu was responsible for the #Horizon software used by the #PostOffice when it #wrongly #convicted #postmasters. Many lost their #jobs and #savings and in some cases went to #prison or lost their #lives.
Fujitsu should NEVER receive another public sector contract and should be #removed immediately from the government's list of #Strategic #Suppliers.

@davidallengreen has started a series of posts on the legalities of the #postoffice #HorizonIT scandal; the first includes an interesting observation.
In 1982 Sect.69 of PACE set out that: 'it was for the prosecution to show that the computer was operating correctly & not for the defendant to show that computer was not operating correctly'!
But, section 69 was repealed in 1999... but think how the PO case against #postmasters might have gone if hadn't been repealed?
