To add an extra layer of security on top of standard multi-factor authentication (MFA), you can secure Omnissa Horizon using Microsoft Entra ID 2FA.

This allows you to enforce an additional authentication factor when users log in to the Omnissa Horizon VDI infrastructure.

Horizon è il tipico insediamento dei film western verso il quale sono tutti diretti. Horizon è il mito della frontiera, è l’ovest, è una promessa, è un punto d’arrivo, è la speranza. La città di Horizon, per molti se non per tutti, sembra essere il futuro: “Un luogo in cui riesco a immaginarmi”, afferma il personaggio interpretato da Kevin Costner. Spesso però il viaggio non è la destinazione, ma il percorso fatto per raggiungerla ed è questo il succo delle prime tre ore di questa epopea ambiziosa, non sempre avvincente, ma comunque imponente messa in piedi da Kevin Costner in questo primo capitolo dell’American Saga di Horizon, che prevede una seconda parte in uscita ad agosto e altri due film attualmente in lavorazione (anche se il deludente esordio al box office statunitense, a fronte del 100 milioni di dollari spesi, potrebbe far cadere tutto il castello).

Raccontato attraverso quattro storie parallele, intersecate tra loro, Horizon è praticamente l’episodio pilota più lungo della storia del cinema, in cui vengono presentati personaggi, ambientazioni, caratteri e obiettivi. C’è la vedova Sienna Miller, sfuggita al massacro da parte degli Apache, che ha una cotta per il tenente dell’Unione. C’è il cowboy solitario, Costner in persona, che si prende a cuore la causa di una prostituta, scortandola per un’America ostile insieme al bambino (non suo) di cui lei si sta prendendo cura. C’è la carovana in viaggio attraverso lande desolate e pericolose, guidata da un saggio Luke Wilson, oltre agli inevitabili cacciatori di indiani, insieme ai quali si muove un giovane adolescente che sta appena cominciando a distinguere il bene dal male.

Una sorta di miniserie composta da film interminabili, con una regia ad ampio respiro, che sfrutta i sensazionali paesaggi statunitensi, così come la splendida fotografia di J. Michael Muro. In questo costosissimo progetto c’è la nostalgia del cinema americano nei confronti del suo genere per eccellenza, il western, qui omaggiato in ogni sua forma. Il primo capitolo come detto mette le carte in tavola, è quasi un lungo preambolo a ciò che presumibilmente vedremo nei film successivi, se mai il regista riuscirà a girare anche l’altra metà del progetto. Non tutto funziona a dovere, ma sequenze come quella dell’assedio di Horizon, del bagno notturno di un’inglese tanto bella quanto viziata o del tentato battesimo del fuoco del giovane pistolero, sono barlumi di splendido cinema che rendono necessaria l’attesa per il secondo capitolo (in arrivo a metà agosto). Polvere, tramonti infuocati e una costante necessità di sopravvivere: un western vecchio stile di questa portata forse è un po’ troppo anacronistico rispetto al cinema di oggi, ma la bellezza di certe immagini non può mai passare di moda. Le premesse per una grande opera ci sono: aspettiamo fiduciosi il resto.

Glad to see the relationship between #Vestibular and #Visual Cues is being studied! I'd like to share a bit of my experience...

When I was nine years old I was prescribed #PlusLensTheory glasses, plano on top, +0.75 in the #bifocal area. And forced to wear them every waking moment. Suddenly the area where my next footstep would fall was magnified, unless I tilted my head way down to see over the bifocal add. And turning my head side to side caused the lower part of the world to appear to rotate way more than expected.

Six months later the main lenses became -0.75 with a more extreme bifocal add. That continued into the usual ever increasing negativity, until age 15 when they gave up and prescribed hard contact lenses.

I've found two published threads that seem relevant:

The first was long ago, when I dug in the physical card catalog at Stanford and made pre-Xerox photocopies of papers (that have faded to invisibility.) There was a prominent German researcher, Helmut #Rennert (1920–1994), who does not seem to be referenced in English publications, and was mainly concerned with a psychopathological continuity from affective to schizophrenic syndromes.

In the late 1960s he found that as people became more strongly afflicted by schizophrenia their representation of the #horizon line in drawings was displaced downward. Eventually their drawings became maps - schematic representations viewed from above - with isolated images of objects floating in unrelated spaces above them.

That's the most vivid image I've found of my world. I felt the horizon at my foot level, not eye level. I remember meditations where I "turned out the lights" in the upper part of my visual space because it conflicted with the Vestibular and Visual Cues from the lens area. Gradually I swung the left and right peripheral images out and forward until they were walls in front of my body instead of a world wrapping around behind me.

Which brings me to the second thread, Dr. Antonia #Orfield, M.A., O.D., SEEING SPACE - Undergoing Brain Re-Programming to Reduce Myopia

She describes the #CyclopeanCave she retreated into because of negative lenses. Very much like I sucked my peripheral world around in front of my face and then inside my head - truly like the world was all inside a mental cave and my body was surrounding it.

The relationship between Vestibular and Visual Cues can get quite complex... I'd love to hear of any other research touching my experience. And I'm happy to answer any questions!
