So what are people's thoughts on using wood chips for weed suppression? I've heard that fungal decomposition sucks nitrogen from the surrounding soil, plus the nooks and crannies can provide ideal habitat for plant-nibbling pillbugs. I looked up pictures of the common pill woodlouse from the area I grew up in to make sure I got it right.

I loved to play with these little guys as a kid, and I still like them.
Known also as pill bugs, potato bugs roly-polies, and all manner of other names I've never used.
Did you know they can live up to 3 years? Me neither.

Today was #tankday, I had to completely replace the soil with coco coir because the flies were totally out of hand. The little ones seem to like it alright at least.
