Saw something unusual last night that I hope remains that way: while poor Niles was eating his supper, Chibi came over and actually bullied him away from the dish! She came up behind him and started nipping at his head and shell. He tried to back off but she continued. When he started to make his escape she pursued him, still nipping at his heel. There is a twig I’ve placed vertically at the side of the tank, and Niles had to climb up that before Chibi would leave him alone. She returned to the food dish and nibbled, then left to resume her other activities. I opened the tank to let Niles sniff my finger, to see if he wanted to have some extra space, but he eventually decided to slink off and take a nap before returning to his agenda. #snailposting #petsnails #video

My #petsnails seem to be Up To Business when they’re awake. They make important decisions like whether to crawl across the side of their little hideaway or across the sides of the tank. I am considering adding a third stick to their terrarium but am also wondering…what sorts of things beyond twigs and sticks and their water dish do they consider toys? I put a dry leaf under a stick and Niles’s eyes bugged out a lil when he saw. Now I’m obsessed. #snailposting #2AMThoughts #highthoughts

I saw my #petsnail Niles had burrowed near the little #succulent I recently added. I didn’t realize he was still in the burrow and accidentally covered him up w dirt replanting. His indignant little #snoot crawling up from the soil was the cutest thing. I think he forgave me pretty quickly though because I had left them both a soggy broccoli for supper. #snailposting #snailsofmastodon #snail #snails #terrarium #pets #animals
