This is also why I have long advocated for expanding the House. #UncapTheHouse
I am also convinced that we should not limit voters to a single party in primary elections. (Still one vote per race but like the general election they can split their ticket.) #OpenPrimaries
These are necessary steps to realign our government to be "of the people, by the people, and for the people" as our founders hoped.
What they designed was calculated to support human flourishing.

@anubis2814 @TheConversationUS Yes, #RankedChoiceVoting is preferable, but it requires state legislators to enact it. Red states like #Tennessee that currently have #OpenPrimaries are trying to CLOSE primaries, but #PrimaryFromTheCenter #StrategicVoting is open to ALL!

If you haven't yet signed the Open Primaries Initiative, or if you have friends who haven't yet signed, you have one last chance.
Volunteers will be collecting signatures outside of One World Cafe in Moscow on Saturday from 11am until 7pm. Please stop by and add your signature, and bring a friend if you can!
If you're holding on to any signatures you've collected, this is also an opportunity to get your petitions notarized and turned in.

@GottaLaff Man! As hard as we work to get these issues on ballots, the right works just as hard to throw up road blocks. In #Idaho #openPrimaries is close to getting enough signatures to get that issue on the ballot. And the damn legislature just rammed through a bill (on the governor's desk) that will hamper ballot initiatives by allowing the disqualification of whole pages of signatures if someone asks who is paying the gatherer and isn't satisfied with the answer.

I agree with you that this is a terrible way to run a primary.If #FreedomOfAssociation means anything, shouldn't it mean that Republicans should be able to pick their nominee without interference from Democrats, and vice versa?
