Amendment 4 is on the August 4 primary ballot in #Missouri. Short version: it ends the citizen initiative.

Missouri voters have used the ballot initiative process to pass #Medicaid expansion, end Missouri's #abortion ban, and raise the minimum wage. And now the #GOP state legislature wants to make it virtually impossible for citizen-initiated ballot initiatives to pass, while not subjecting legislature-initiated initiatives to the same standards. It's another example of #TheyCantWinSoTheyCheat.

#AdoptandAmend petition language for a pair of #BallotInitiatives in 2018. Justices said the tactic is unconstitutional because the Legislature circumvented the petition initiative process in 2018. Increases to #Michigan's standard minimum wage, tipped #MinimumWage & an expansion of the state's earned sick time laws are slated to take effect in February.
