I don‘t understand the difference between environment.systemPackages and programs.something.enabled = true in NixOS config. I tried finding an explanation what programs is all about in the docs but there‘s nothing about it. It seems to be somehow overlapping, e.g. I can have a systemPackage but also a program. Can anybody shed some light?

For anyone just joining: I highly recommend making an introduction post and and using lots of hashtags so that people can find you! (Remember, there’s no global text search, only hashtags for opting in to discovery)

#newbiequestion here: I set my #timelines preference to take me back to wherever I was when I left them. But in order to refresh the timeline, it seems I now have to manually scroll up screen after screen until I get to the most recent post. Is there any shortcut to go straight to the top instead of so much scrolling? I don’t see anything in the ios apps I’m curently trying (neither Mastodon’s own or Metatext). Thanks in advance for any pointers.

I was beginning to feel lonely with no followers, but have now found follow requests, but can't seem to find a way to 'accept' them.

No recovery emails are received when requested and when I click back through the confirmation email (from days ago) that I received at my email address…another address shows in the box on Mastodon. I’m not logging out on iOS because I won’t be able to get back in. Is this fixable or do I have to start from scratch (and lose my current user name.) #newbiequestion
