Hey #mastodon
I have a question
Is there anyone on here who uses Temple OS and if so, is it just for lolz or is it serious? It is an absolutely fascinating OS to me given its origins and I'm curious as to what its uses could possibly be?

#CôngNghệ #LlamaCPP #LXC #Proxmox #AMD #TiênLượngMôHình #HỏiĐáp #TechVNP #AI #CUDA #Container #FrameworkDesktop #Linux #GPU #DevOps #TechQuestion #Community #IT #MastodonVN

Are Web Components & Cybersecurity A Better Combo?
I'm not trying to dunk on popular #UI #frameworks – I'm sure they're totally fine for #cybersecurity stuff, probably get loads of reviews and #audits.
But from my angle: Web Components are *native* to the #browser. Doesn't that just inherently reduce the risk of **#SupplyChainAttacks** (you know, like a rogue `npm install` on a bad network) for your #AppSecurity?
Or am I overthinking it, and the #framework choice is less important than the #browser, #OS, or #device running it? What are your thoughts, #DevCommunity?
---
Quick context: I've got a #ReactJS #messagingApp (repo here: https://github.com/positive-intentions/chat) and a separate #UIFramework (repo here: https://github.com/positive-intentions/dim) built with #Lit (which uses Web Components). I'm genuinely wondering if there's a compelling #cybersecurity reason to refactor the chat app to use my #WebComponent UI framework. Might be a whole new level of #SecurityByDesign for #FrontEndDev.
FYI, same question's on Reddit here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ExperiencedDevs/comments/1lmk1rg/are_web_components_better_for_cybersecurity/, got some good #insights, but want to make sure nothing's getting overlooked! Let's discuss #InfoSec #WebDev #JavaScript #OpenSource #TechQuestion.

There is a thing which does confuse me. Sometimes if I run 'yay' on my arch installation to update all packages entering my password does not work.
I double checked if some modifier key is active by writing it to the console and it is correct. Still I cannot enter the password correctly.1 / 2

to people with more knowledge regarding GPU/ GPU drivers on Linux:
I recently bought a wide-screen monitor which has 165hz, since then when playing eu4 in full screen mode the GPU just "says no" (all 3 monitors go black, and the ventilation goes to 100%) the computer is still on but yeah I have to force shut down it in these situations.
and a few minutes ago this happened randomly (Minecraft, Browser and TeamSpeak were pretty much the only open windows)So my question is: How can I troubleshoot this? I searched through journal entries but no logs that scream to my noob eyes that they are responsible.
so thanks in advance!
(I really like the new monitor so I would prefer it if I could keep using it :S)
(GPU is AMD RX 480 with 4 GB VRAM)
(Edit: OS is Fedora 42, up to date, and I'm using Gnome) -

Technical Question: I have two HDMI monitors but my graphics card only has an HDMI port for 1 HDMI input. How can I split two monitors to work on a machine like this? USB HDMI Hub? #techquestion #HDMI

Seeking answers for MacOS and Windows.
Is there a way to specify the dns server up address that is then used for all wifi connections. Currently it seems these things are setup on a per wifi network basis. I wanna help grandma set and forget for example. -

If I do incremental backups, so each backup only saves the files that changed since last backup, does that mean it also deletes files that I deleted since last backup? Or does it keep everything and when I restore my backup some day it'll also bring back tons of files I deleted long ago?

Is there a way to perform logical operations on Mastodon searches?
For example searching for @randomuser AND #randomhashtag ?
In the ideal world, at least AND, OR, and NOT.
