Wanting to put Posts with more than 3000 characters (from other accounts) behind a CW.

Or just hide them.

Alternative is that I will Block accounts that make too long Posts.

Anyone got this sort of thing happening?

A bit newer to Mastodon. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to avoid your feed from getting cluttered from followed hashtags?

I feel like I follow any popular tags and my feed is just inundated with bot posts and I can’t find any of the people I actually follow haha.

Yarn either

is not found, or

won't run because of permissions, or

will run, but doesn't have the --immutable option.

I cannot upgrade Mastodon to v4.5.14.

Does anyone know how to completely purge the server of every node-related anything, no matter how installed (by which method), and how to install the correct npm and yarn so that they are seen by the mastodon user, executable by the mastodon user, and recognized this --immutable switch?

I despise node's inconsistencies. I really do.

Is there a mastodon android app that can create hashtag lists? Like user lists but for hashtags.

My use case: I'm following a bunch of adhd related hashtags. Right now I have to check each hashtag individually. I want to create one list that includes multiple hashtags (adhd, adhs, actuallyadhd, etc.) to display them in one timeline.

Anyone know why this happens? When browsing a users Media tab (and my own).

It seems to occur on multiple instances. I'm on an instance that is ported to GlitchSoc and I don't know if that affects it.

Say a mastodon.social (for example) user searches for a post on a remote server, which causes mastodon.social to fetch that post to be available locally on mastodon.social.

If a *different* mastodon.social user, or even that same user, searches for that same post on a remote server, does mastodon.social just retrieve the locally stored copy, or does it query the remote server every single time someone searches for it?

Okay, a bit miffed now.

Was going through the list of accounts that I follow to see if there were any inactive ones or any that I don't wish to follow anymore & I was finding that when I went to several profiles (on different servers) that most of them displayed as if I was not following them.
The button that should say Unfollow showed up as the Follow button.
On a couple I clicked the Follow button to see what would happen & it brought up a dialogue box asking me to sign in, offering a field to enter my full handle in. This makes no sense as I'm already logged in on my instance & I doubt me logging in to their instance would work as I do not have an account there.

Could someone explain what that's about as it's a little disturbing to a non-tech head?

I’m trying to install Microsoft Word on Windows but running into issues. Downloaded Microsoft 365 from the official site, opened the EXE, and it keeps saying “could not install.” Anyone run into this before or know a fix?

Also open to alternatives for writing that sync well between phone and computer if Word keeps acting up.

It has no label that it is AI.
This image appears to be in violation of instance rules.

That the aparently AI image is in a link might not exempt the Post as displayed from having to stay inside the boundaries of instance rules.

1. Load you archive in settings
2. Go to https://codeberg.org/oliphant/posty
3. Install or ask a friend with docker experience
4. Generate a PDF with your old posts
5. Upload and post the PDF with your new account
