    Why is there not a common convention between using bits or bytes? Especially in networking and the Internet. Just about everything in tech has gone with the byte, save for the CPU bits, but my Internet speed is measured in bits, BUT my web browser measures speed in bytes. This makes negative sense. It also doesn't help that networking hardware also uses bits.
