The Appeal of the Coros Heart Rate Monitor
Reading Time: 2 minutesHaving a watch with an Heart rate (HR) monitor is fantastic until you realise it’s counting 20 BPM too high, and then it’s far less interesting because it’s reporting a moderate workout as heart.
Plenty of heart rate monitors come as chest straps and that’s great if your workout starts and ends somewhere where it’s okay to strap on a heart rate monitor. In winter it’s also about convenience. It is complicated to remove five layers, to put the HR monitor on, and then start an activity.
Often I put the HR monitor on at home, and then drove or caught the train to the start of an activity, and then I started tracking. If you have hours of battery life with the HR monitor then that’s fine.
In summer wearing an HR chest strap is not as complicated. You only have one layer to remove and put back on, but you might not want to do this in the middle of the street with plenty of people around.
That’s when the arm band concept, as with the COros HR monitor comes in. You can walk with it in your pocket, to the start, lift your sleeve, place it, and then lower the street, and within seconds you have your heart rate being tracked.
When you’re cycling with the Garmin Explore 2 or running with the Coros Pace 3, or Garmin Forerunner 570, all of these devices recognise the HR monitor and accept its data.
When you’re cycling with the Explore 2 it is useful to have a quick and convenient HR monitor to wear on one of your arms, instead of going through a few seconds of setting up the chest strap.
In summer I love the convenience of rolling up the t-shirt sleeve, placing the HR monitor, going for a ride, run, or walk, and as soon as I’m done being able to remove it. It is also convenient to have 38 hours of battery and USB charging. 2032 battery HR monitors are great, but the convenience of simplified charging is welcome.
It’s worth watching the pricing trends, because it varies from 73 CHF to 95CHF+ depending on the day.

Nie kupujcie monitora Dell UltraSharp 27 4K U2725QE, gdyby ktoś rozważał. Kupiłem dobry rok temu i miałem trzy wymiany. Pierwszy z czasem zaczął głośno piszczeć a kolejne miały problem z wyświetlaniem obrazu, głównie podświetlanie wyłączało się losowo w różnych miejscach. Nie wiem jak Dell ogólnie radzi sobie z monitorami, bo to mój pierwszy od Della, ale ten konkretny model na moje oko ma poważne problemy, więc odradzam.
Na plus za to wsparcie Della, choć na WhatsAppie siedziały jakieś zwierzęta i nie dało się dogadać, dzwonienie na polski numer telefonu to zdecydowanie lepszy pomysł. Na te chwile monitor został wysłany do sprzedawcy i liczę na zwrot pieniędzy. Dzisiaj dojechał do mnie inny monitor, ASUS ProArt Display PA27JCV, mam nadzieję, że to już koniec przygód.

I bought a new 2k monitor to replace my 13 old HD monitor. Right now I use an 10 year old HD monitor and the 13 year old one. Never owned a 2k monitor with HDR and LED dimming areas (VA Panel).
I can't wait for it to arrive. Either it will blow me away and I will question my life why I never invested in one or it will be a "nah".
If everything works out as planned, it will arrive on Thursday.

My LG TV has just shown an ad for food delivery while I was watching YouTube.
I complained to LG's AI (on their website, not in the TV), which told me what I should opt out of to "reduce" the frequency of ads.
I'm not convinced that I won't see any more ads.
LG is on very thin ice with me.
I'd say my next TV wouldn't be an LG TV. but this has come to pass already. I bought a second TV, and it is a Visio.
I'm thinking the next "TV" I buy won't be a TV at all, it will be a dumb monitor driven by a home theater system. I already have a home theater in the living room.

The integrated speakers on my #Dell #S2725QC #monitor are awful. They sound like cans, the lowest volume is too loud and they require some janky drivers to control the volume instead of standard control signals.
They should have made it cheaper instead.Otherwise I'm happy with it as a practical USB-C 4K 120Hz monitor.

Hot take: I used to think more screens, the more productive. Then because of travel, I started using just my laptop screen (14"), and due to the window tiling, workspace switching using gestures, I can get more done without distractions from multiple visible windows across the displays. Yeah, multi screens look cool. But it definitely kills your focus.
