Imperial Metals Corp. and two other firms were charged, January 2025, with 15 alleged Canada Fisheries Act breaches for the Mount Polley mine collapse: 25 million cubic metres of tailings poured into waterways.
Aquatic eco-toxicologist published research showing "the aquatic food chain displayed elevated metal accumulation at sites affected by the spill".
