Firstly, #Mastodon ecosystem =/ #Fediverse, please don't collapse them together; and secondly, dude raves about products improvements that Mastodon should have, but no acknowledgment that many of these features are already across the Fediverse, and wrt #microblogging #microfedi instances he could take a look at #Calckey's rich features and its development path?

Perhaps it reflects the experience of those for whom mastodon.social is a large part of their #Fediverse experience?

Looking forward to seeing #Calckey #Channels, currently local-only, become federated with other instances. In the meantime they make a good local-only #Lemmy substitute - and without requiring sign up. #forums #fediverse #feditips #microfedi

I've just started playing around with #Channels which look like they are instance-locked #forums on the #Calckey platform. Cool thing about them is you can #follow them and posts will appear in your home #timeline just like when following another user's account.

1. Channels are found in the #Calckey sidebar.
2. Here's a list of channels on #blahajzone.
3. Inside "Jo Channel" on #blahajzone. Anyone from the instance can post, posts are #localonly.
4. If you #follow the channel, posts appear in your home & local timelines like so.

How to migrate from mastodon.lol to blahaj.zone

1) Create your new account at blahaj.zone
2) Go to the migration settings on blahaj.zone They can be found at Settings >> Other Settings >> Migration.

3) In the "move to this account from an older account" field, enter in your mastodon.lol account (example @[email protected]) and save

4) Go to mastodon.lol migration settings. I think the URL for mastodon.lol is https://mastodon.lol/settings/migration

5) Fill in the handle of your blahaj.zone account (example: @[email protected]) and then your mastodon.lol password).

6) Press "Move Followers" and the magic will happen

I just want to take a moment to talk about how awesome this post here is. Not the content, but what it represents.

When I made the post, I was seeking some assistance on some backend admin settings for our new Friendica instance. Using Friendica, I posted my question in to the fediverse as I would on Calckey or Mastodon or any other #microfedi platform. But due to the way Friendica handles ActivityPub groups, I was able to tag the friendica lemmy group (think federated reddit) and post was published there too!

All from the one post!

It's not perfect. Calckey or Mastodon don't work well with ActivityPub groups yet, so this wouldn't have been possible from them, but that will come with time as the platforms mature and the kinks get ironed out.

But even this, just working on Friendica, this is a taste of what the future can look like. This is a platform agnostic internet. This is what the fediverse is built for! Fuck it's exciting!

I've spent a lot of time over the last few months playing around with various fediverse platforms and apps... I feel like I should be doing something with this knowledge. Like, a feature comparison, or comparative reviews or something...

I'm not sure how to go about it though...

Maybe a fediverse enabled blog service that I post reviews on? I mean, that would give me another platform to review too :)

@[email protected] I can see it in my feed on a #Calckey instance, which doesn't run the #Mastodon API, but really isn't Friendica, Hubzilla or the other #Fediverse platforms.

@[email protected] So, for the #microfedi apps (mastodon, calckey, misskey, akkoma etc) I only have a single account that I use.

But I also maintain accounts on bookwyrm, pixelfed and lemmy accounts as well. They are much more tightly focused, but because of federation, I can boost/share/reply to content from those instances bringing it in to the #microfedi section of the fediverse if I need to
